Window Motor



Removal & Installation

NOTE
This procedure requires the use of the following tools or their equivalents:



KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014
 
Trim Pad remover, Snap-On A 177A
 


WARNING
Be careful not to scratch the door panel or door. Use the most appropriate tool from the trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.

  1. Remove the door panel in the sequence shown in the accompanying illustration. Remove the panel with as little bending as possible to prevent creasing or breaking it.

  3. Detach the connector, unfasten the retainers, then remove the window motor.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the window motor, secure with the retainers and attach the connector.
  2.  
  3. Installation of the door panel is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting the following:
    1. Check for damaged or stress-whitened clips and replace them with new ones.
    2.  
    3. Make sure the connectors are properly plugged in.
    4.  
    5. Check the operation of the window and power door locks..

Window Switch



Removal & Installation
Master Switch
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section. Also see the IMA system disabling before proceeding with any procedure.
  2.  
  3. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio and the radio presets.
    CAUTION
    These vehicles may be equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which uses an air bag. Whenever working near any of the SRS components, such as the impact sensors, the air bag module, steering column and instrument panel, disable the SRS.

  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 3 minutes to disable the SRS.
    NOTE
    You will need a suitable trim tool set when removing the instrument panel, to avoid damaging the components when prying them. Be careful not the scratch the dashboard and other components.

  7. Remove the instrument panel with the heater control panel, as shown in the accompanying figure.
    1. Remove the driver-s airbag, steering wheel and steering column upper cover, as outlined in the Suspension and Steering section.
    2.  
    3. Remove the instrument panel as shown in the accompanying figure.
    4.

  9. Detach the connectors, unfasten any necessary retainers, then remove the window switch.

To install:

  1. Install the window switch, secure the retainers and attach the electrical connector.
  2.  
  3. When installing the instrument panel, replace any damaged clips, attach the connectors properly and push the clips securely into place.
    NOTE
    The ECM idle learn procedure must be performed anytime you disconnect the battery, replace the ECM or detach any of its connectors, replace or clean the throttle body, remove fuses or adjust the idle speed.

  5. Perform the ECM idle learn procedure, as follows:
    1. Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio, rear defogger, lights, etc.) are off.
    2.  
    3. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm without load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, or the engine coolant temperature reaches 176-221°F (80-100°C).
    4.  
    5. Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes with the throttle fully closed and with all electrical items off.
      NOTE
      If the radiator fan comes on, do not include its running time in the 5 minutes.

Passenger's Side
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section. Also see the IMA system disabling before proceeding with any procedure.
