Removal & Installation



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. When the engine is cool, drain the engine coolant from the radiator.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front passenger's seat.
  6.  
  7. Remove the center console, as follows:
    NOTE
    When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts to prevent damage. Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts.

    1. Starting at the top, gently pull the center front covers (A) out to detach the clips (B), then pull the cover out to detach the remaining clips (C), and remove the covers from both sides.

    3. To remove the center lower cover (A), remove the coin pocket (B), screws (C), then pull out the cover to detach the clips (D) and detach the accessory power socket connector (E) and console light connector (F).

    5. If equipped, remove the center lower cover (A) with the seat heater switches by removing the screws (B), pull the cover out to detach the clips (C), then disconnect the accessory power socket connector (D), seat heater switch connectors (E) and console light connector (F).

    7. Detach the clips and release the hooks (A), then remove the driver's console side trim (B) and passenger's console side trim (C).

    9. Starting at the top, gently pull out the console rear trim (A) to detach the clips (B), then pull out the trim to detach the remaining clips (C), and disconnect the rear heater-A/C passenger's control panel-unit connectors (D) and accessory power socket connector (E). If equipped with rear entertainment system, disconnect the rear entertainment system jack connector (F).

If equipped with rear entertainment system, disconnect the rear entertainment system jack connector (F)

    11. From both sides of the center console, remove the bolts (B) and screws (C). Remove the center console (A). Detach the harness clip (D). Disconnect the Disconnect the accessory power socket connector (E), and detach it. Lift the console (A) up, then remove it.

  9. Install the heater core in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Do not interchange the inlet and outlet heater hoses, and install the hose clamps securely.
    2.  
    3. Refill the cooling system with engine coolant.
    4.  
    5. Make sure that there is no coolant leakage.
    6.

  11. Install the center console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Replace any damaged clips.
    2.  
    3. Make sure all the connectors are plugged in properly.
    4.  
    5. Push the clips into place securely.
    6.  

  12.  
  13. Install the front passenger-s seat.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16.
