Removal & Installation



2003-04 Models
  1. Remove the center front covers and the center lower cover, as follows.
    NOTE
    When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts to prevent damage. Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts.

    1. Starting at the top, gently pull the center front covers (A) out to detach the clips (B), then pull the cover out to detach the remaining clips (C), and remove the covers from both sides.

    3. To remove the center lower cover (A), remove the coin pocket (B), screws (C), then pull out the cover to detach the clips (D) and detach the accessory power socket connector (E) and console light connector (F).

  3. Remove the screws, and remove the heater control panel (A) with the brackets from the dashboard, then disconnect the connector (B).

  5. Remove the screws and the heater control panel (A) from the brackets (B).

To install:

  1. Install the control panel in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the control panel controls to see whether it works properly.

  3. Install the center lower cover and center front covers in the reverse of the removal procedure.

2005 Models

NOTE
This procedure requires the use of KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014, or equivalent trim tool set.

  1. Remove the dashboard center panel, as follows:
    NOTE
    Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.

    1. On the passenger's side, use a flat-tip screwdriver to pry out the switch lid (A) at the notch (B), and remove the lid.

    3. Gently pull out the dashboard center panel (C) by grasping inside the switch lid hole to detach the clips (D, E).

    5. On the driver's side, gently pull out on the panel (A) to detach the side clips, then remove the panel.

    7. Disconnect the hazard warning switch connector and VTM-4 lock switch connector.

  3. Remove the screws, and remove the heater control panel (A) with the brackets from the dashboard, then disconnect the connector (B).

  5. Remove the screws and the heater control panel (A) from the brackets (B).

To install:

  1. Install the control panel in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the control panel controls to see whether it works properly. Install the center panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Make sure each connector is plugged in properly. Replace any damaged clips. Push the clips into place securely
