Removal & Installation
Accord
2001-02 Coupe

NOTE
This procedure requires the use of Trim Pad Remover, Snap-on A 177, or equivalent, commercially available trim pad removal tool.

  1. Remove the mirror mount cover, as follows:
    1. Lower the door glass fully.
    2.  
    3. Carefully pry out the mirror mount cover (A) by hand in the sequence shown.

  3. Remove the inner handle (A), being careful not to scratch the door panel, as follows:
    1. Pry out the cap (B), and remove the screw.
    2.  
    3. Pull the inner handle forward and out half-way.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the inner handle rod (C) and power door lock switch connector (D).

  5. Remove the screw, and release the clips (A, B) that hold the door panel (C) with a commercially available trim pad remover (D), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Disconnect the power window switch connectors (E), and the power mirror switch connector (F) (driver's side), security indicator connector (G) (driver's side for some models), and courtesy light bulb socket (H). Remove the door panel with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it.

  7. Disconnect the connector (A), and detach the harness clip (B), then remove the nuts or bolts securing the mirror.

  9. While holding the mirror, push out the clip (A), and remove the mirror (B). Take care not to scratch the door.

To install:

  1. Install the mirror in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
    2.  
    3. Attach the harness clip.
    4.

  3. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal; make sure the connectors and the courtesy light bulb socket are plugged in properly, and the inner handle rod is connected properly.
  4.  

2001-02 Sedan
  1. This procedure requires the use of Trim Pad Remover, Snap-on A 177 or equivalent, commercially available trim panel removal tool.

  3. Remove the mirror mount cover, as follows:
    1. Lower the door glass fully.
    2.  
    3. Carefully pry out the mirror mount cover (A) by hand in the sequence shown.

  5. If equipped with manual windows, remove the regulator handle (A) by pulling the clip (B) out with a wire hook (C).

  7. Remove the inner handle (A), as follows:
    1. Pry out the cap (B), and remove the screw.
    2.  
    3. Pull the inner handle forward and out half-way.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the inner handle rod (C) and power door lock switch connector (D) (for some models).

  9. If equipped with power windows: Remove the pull pocket panel (A), as follows:
    1. Pry out the cap (B), and remove the screw
    2.  
    3. Release the hooks (C), disconnect the power window switch connector (D), and the power mirror switch connector (E), driver's side only.

  11. If equipped with manual windows: Remove the pull pocket (A), as follows:
    1. Pry out the cap (B), and remove the screw
    2.  
    3. Lift out the pull pocket

  13. Release the clips (A, B) that hold the door panel (C) with a commercially available trim pad remover (D), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Disconnect the security indicator connector (E)(driver's) and courtesy light bulb socket (F).

  15. Remove the door panel with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it.

  17. Remove the screws securing the pull pocket bracket (A). On power window models, remove the nut securing the center stiffener (B).

  19. Disconnect the connector (A), and detach the harness clip (B), then remove the nuts or bolts securing the mirror.

  21. While holding the mirror, push out the clip (A), and remove the mirror (B). Take care not to scratch the door.

To install:

  1. Install the mirror in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
    2.  
    3. Attach the harness clip.
    4.

  3. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Make sure the connectors and the courtesy light bulb socket are plugged in properly, and the rod is connected properly.
    2.  
    3. If applicable, install the regulator handle so it points forward and up at a 45 degree angle with the glass fully closed.

2003-06 Models
  1. Lower the door glass fully.

  3. Carefully pry out the mirror mount cover (A) by hand in the sequence shown.

  5. Disconnect the power mirror connector (A).

  7. On power mirror models: While holding the mirror, push in on the connector clip tabs (A), then push out to remove the mirror (B). Be careful not to scratch the door.

  9. Install the mirror in the reverse order of removal, and make sure the connector is plugged in properly.

Civic
2-Door Models

NOTE
This procedure requires the use of KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 and Trim pad remover, Snap-on A 177A or equivalent, commercially available trim panel removal tools.


NOTE
Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.

  1. Lower the door glass fully.
  2.  
  3. Carefully pry out the mirror mount cover (A) by hand in the sequence shown.

  5. If equipped with manual windows: remove the regulator handle (A) by pulling the clip (B) out with a wire hook (C).

  7. Remove the inner handle (A), being careful not to scratch the door panel, as follows:
    1. Pry out on the upper portion of the cover (B) to release the hooks (C, D), then remove the cover.
    2.  
    3. Remove the screws
    4.  
    5. Pull the inner handle forward and out half-way to release the hook (E).
    6.  
    7. Disconnect the inner handle rod (F) and power door lock switch connector (G) (driver's side for some models).

  9. Remove the switch panel (A) (power window model) or the pull pocket (B) (manual window model), as follows:
    1. Using a trim tool, pry the cap (C), then remove the screw (D).
    2.  
    3. Pry out the panel or pocket to release the clips (E).
    4.  
    5. Release the clip (F) by pulling the cover or pocket forward.
    6.  
    7. Power window model: Disconnect the power window switch connector (G).

  11. Remove the screws (H) securing the door panel.
  12.  
  13. Release the clips that hold the door panel (A) with a commercially available trim pad remover (B), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Remove the door panel with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it.

  15. If equipped with a tweeter, pull the plastic cover (A) back as necessary, and disconnect the connector (B), then remove the mirror mount cover (C) with the tweeter.

  17. On power mirror model: Disconnect the connector (D).

  19. On power mirror model: While holding the mirror, push in on the connector clips (A), then push out to remove the mirror (B). Take care not to scratch the door.

To install:

  1. Install the mirror in the reverse order of removal, and make sure the connector is plugged in properly (power mirror model).
  2.  
  3. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Replace any damaged clips.
    2.  
    3. Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the rod is connected properly.
    4.  
    5. Make sure the window and power door locks operate properly.
    6.  
    7. If equipped with manual windows, install the regulator handle so it points forward and up at a 45° angle with the glass fully closed.

4-Door Models
  1. Lower the door glass fully.
  2.  
  3. Carefully pry out the mirror mount cover (A) by hand in the sequence shown.

  5. Detach the power mirror connector (A).

  7. While holding the mirror, push in on the connector clips (A), then push out to remove the mirror (B). Take care not to scratch the door.
  8.  
  9. Install the mirror in the reverse order of removal, and make sure the connector is plugged in properly (power mirror model).
