    Accord
    2001-02 Models

    NOTE
    When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.

    1. Remove the center panel together with the heater control panel, as follows:
      1. Detach the clips, and release the retaining tabs (A), then pull the clock out. Disconnect the clock connector (B) and hazard warning switch connector (C).

      3. Remove the screws, and detach the clips (A), then detach the upper clips (A and B) to remove the center panel by disconnecting the heater control unit connectors (C).

    3. Remove the self-tapping screws and the heater control panel (A) from the center panel (B).

    To install:

    1. Install the control panel in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the control panel controls to see whether it works properly.
    2.  
    3. Install the panel in the reverse order of removal, and make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.

    2003-06 Models
    Civic
    2001-05 Models

    NOTE
    This procedure requires the use of KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014, or equivalent trim tool set. Use the appropriate tool from the trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Remove the center panel, as follows:
      1. Remove the dashboard center lower cover.
      2.  
      3. Remove the bolts (B) from the dashboard center lower cover opening.
      4.  
      5. Gently pull out along the bottom to release the lower clips (C), then along both sides and top to release the remaining clips (D)
      6.  
      7. Disconnect the hazard warning switch connector (E), audio unit connector (F), antenna lead (G), heater switch connector (H), and heater control unit connectors (I), then remove the center panel (A).

    5. Remove the dials (A), then remove the self-tapping screws and the heater control panel (B) from the center panel (C). Remove the self-tapping screws and the push switch assembly (D) from the center panel.

    7. Install the control panel and the push switch assembly in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the control panel controls to see if they work properly.

    9. Install the center panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
      1. Make sure each connector is plugged in properly and the antenna lead is connected properly.
      2.  
      3. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, and then enter the customer's radio station presets.
      4.  
      5. Push the clips into place securely.
      6.  
      7. Set the clock.
      8.

    2006 Models

    Before performing this procedure, note the following:

    1. Put on gloves to protect your hands.
    2.  
    3. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
    4.  
    5. Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
    6.  
    7. Do not work in a dusty or dirty place.
    8.  
    9. Discharge static electricity from your body before and during the work.
    10.  
    11. Do not touch the circuit board(s) with your bare hands.
    12.  
    13. Do not work with dirty hands.
    14.  
    15. Be careful not to fold the flat plate cable.
    16.  
    17. Do not touch the terminal connector of the flat plate cable with your bare hands. (If you have touched it, wipe it off thoroughly.)
    18.  

    1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio system, then write down the audio presets.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 3 minutes before proceeding.
    4.  
    5. Remove the center panel, as follows.
    6.  
    7. Remove the meter inner visor.
    8.  
    9. Remove the center pocket hole lid and bolts, then pull out the center panel (A).
    10.  
    11. Disconnect the connectors (B), then remove the center panel.

    13. Remove the dials (A), the self-tapping screws, and the HVAC control unit (B).

    15. Install the control unit in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the various functions to make sure they work properly.

    Prelude
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Detach the clips, then remove the center trim panel.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the air mix control cable from the heater unit.
    6.  
    7. Remove the self-tapping screws, then pull the heater control panel. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the heater control panel.
    8.  
    9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
    10.  

    S2000

    NOTE

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    3. Remove the instrument panel together with the heater control panel, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
