Windshield Wiper Motor



Removal & Installation
Accord
2001-02 Models
  1. Remove the nuts (A) and remove the windshield wiper arms (B).
  2.  
  3. Remove the hood seal and cowl cover.

  4.  
  5. Remove the bolt (A) and windshield wiper linkage assembly (B).
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the connector (C) from the wiper motor (D).

  8.  
  9. Scribe a line (A) across the link and windshield wiper linkage to show the original adjustment. Separate the windshield wiper linkage (B) from the wiper motor (C).

  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the motor in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Grease the moving parts.
    2.  
    3. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the park position.
    4.  
    5. If necessary, replace any damaged clips.
    6.  
    7. Check the wiper motor operation.
    8.

2003-06 Models
  1. Open the hood. Remove the caps, nuts (A), and the windshield wiper arms (B).
  2.  
  3. Remove the hood seals (C) and cowl covers (D).

  5. Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Remove the four bolts (B) and wiper linkage assembly (C).

  8.  
  9. Scribe a line (A) across the link and windshield wiper linkage to show the original adjustment. Then, separate the windshield wiper linkage (B) from the wiper motor (C).

To install:

  1. Install in the reverse order to removal, and note these items:
    1. Apply multipurpose grease to the moving parts.
    2.  
    3. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the park position.
    4.  
    5. If necessary, replace any damaged clips.
    6.  
    7. Check the wiper motor operation.
    8.

Civic
  1. Open the hood. Remove the nut covers, nuts (A) and the windshield wiper arms (B).
  2.  
  3. Remove the hood seals (C) and cowl covers (D).

  5. Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Remove the three bolts (B) and wiper linkage assembly (C).

  9. Scribe a line (A) across the link and windshield wiper linkage to show the original adjustment.
  10.  
  11. Separate the windshield wiper linkage (B) from the wiper motor (C).

To install:

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

  3. Remove the hood seal and cowl cover.

  5. Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the wiper motor (B).

  7. Remove the bolts, then remove windshield wiper linkage assembly (C).

  9. Remove the three mounting bolts and nut from the wiper linkage (A) to remove the wiper motor (B).

To install:

  1. Install the wiper motor in the reverse order of removal, and note the following:
    1. Grease all moving parts.

    3. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the park position.

    5. If necessary, replace any damaged clips.
    6.  
    7. Check the wiper motor operation.
