Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Hyundai Entourage 2007-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Drain the engine oil.
  4.  
  5. Remove the oil pan bolts.
  6.  
  7. Using the SST (09215-3C000), remove the oil pan.
    1. Insert the SST between the oil pan and the ladder frame by tapping it with a plastic hammer in the direction of arrow.
    2.  
    3. After tapping the SST with a plastic hammer along the direction of arrow around more than 2 / 3 of the edge of the oil pan, remove it from the ladder frame.
      WARNING
      Do not turn over the SST abruptly without tapping. Damage may occur to the SST or the oil pan.

To install:

  1. Using a razor blade and gasket scraper, carefully remove all the old packing material from the gasket surfaces.
  2.  
  3. Check that the mating surfaces are clean and dry before applying liquid gasket.
    1. Apply liquid gasket as an even bead, centered between the edges of the mating surface. Use liquid gasket: TB1217H or equivalent. Apply a bead 1 / 8 inch (3mm) wide to the oil pan.
    2.  
    3. To prevent leakage of oil, apply liquid gasket to the inner threads of the bolt holes.
      NOTE
      Do not install the parts if 5 minutes or more have elapsed since applying the liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing the residue.

  5. Install the oil pan with the bolts. Uniformly tighten the bolts in several passes. Tightening torque: 84-108 inch lbs. (10-12 Nm).
    NOTE
    After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.

  7. Fill the engine with the proper type and amount of engine oil.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    The rear oxygen sensor connector-1.6L engine
     
    The front muffler heat protector-1.6L engine
     
    The front muffler-1.6L engine
     
    The exhaust manifold and catalytic converter assembly-1.6L engine
     
    The front exhaust pipe-2.7L engine
     
    The oil pan bolts

  7. Using the SST (09215-3C000), remove the oil pan.
    1. Insert the SST between the oil pan and the ladder frame by tapping it with a plastic hammer in the direction of arrow.
    2.  
    3. After tapping the SST with a plastic hammer along the direction of arrow around more than 2 / 3 of the edge of the oil pan, remove it from the ladder frame.
      WARNING
      Do not turn over the SST abruptly without tapping or damage may occur to the SST or oil pan.

To install:

  5. Install the oil pan with the bolts. Uniformly tighten the bolts in several passes. Tightening torque: 84-108 inch lbs. (10-12 Nm).

  7. Install the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter assembly-1.6L engine
  8.  
  9. Install the front muffler-1.6L engine. Tightening torque: 22-29 ft. lbs. (29-39 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Install the front muffler heat protector-1.6L engine.
  12.  
  13. Connect the rear oxygen sensor connector-1.6L engine.
  14.  
  15. Install the front exhaust pipe-2.7L engine.
    NOTE
    After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.

  17. Fill with engine oil.
  18.
