Power Sunroof



Diagnosis & Testing
Motor

Specific to:

Hyundai Entourage 2007-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  4.  
  5. Remove the sunroof motor (A).
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connections.
  8.  
  9. Ground the terminals as below table, and check that the sunroof unit operates as described.

  11. Apply battery voltage to terminals 3 and 6, and a ground to terminal 1.
  12.  
  13. Use the Terminal Test Condition Table to perform input tests at the sunroof motor connector.
    1. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    2.  
    3. If all the input tests prove OK, the sunroof motor must be faulty; replace it.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  4.  
  5. Remove the sunroof motor (A).
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connections.

  9. Ground the terminals as below table, and check that the sunroof unit operates as described.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  4.  
  5. Remove the sunroof motor.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connections.

  9. Connect the positive lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative lead to terminal 1.
  10.  
  11. Check that the motor turns counterclockwise (toward the closed and down position).
  12.  
  13. Reverse the polarity, check that the motor turns clockwise (toward the up and opened position).
  14.  
  15. If the motor fails to operate as specified, replace the motor.

Switch

Specific to:

Hyundai Entourage 2007-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  4.  
  5. Open the sunglass case cover from the overhead console.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 2 screws holding the overhead console.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the overhead console lamp assembly from the headliner.
  10.  
  11. Check for continuity between the terminals as shown in the table. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the sunroof switch.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  4.  
  5. Open the sunglass case cover from the overhead console.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 2 screws holding the overhead console.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the overhead console lamp assembly from the headliner.
  10.  
  11. Check for continuity between the terminals as shown in the table. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the sunroof switch.

Hyundai Tiburon 2006-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  4.  
  5. Detach the lamp lens, then remove the 2 mounting screws.
  6.  
  7. Open the overhead console case cover, then remove the 2 more mounting screws.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the roof wiring (M95) and sunroof wiring (M96) connectors.

  10.  
  11. Remove the overhead console lamp assembly from the headliner.
  12.  
  13. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the terminals.
  14.  
  15. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the power sunroof switch.

  17. Verify power and ground continuity between the M95 and M96 terminals.
