Tire Pressure Monitor System

Print

Specific to:

Hyundai Entourage 2007-2008

When removing or mounting a tire with a Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) sensor installed, stay 90° away from the sensor location. Avoid tire/tool contact with the valve on mount and dismount. Avoid lubricant contact on the sensor. Lubricate the tire bead not the rim. Excessive lubrication should not be applied.

After removing the valve nut from the TPM sensor, it should not be re-used.

Ensure that the wheel to be fitted is designed for a sensor mount. There should normally be a mark to indicate this. Make sure that the valve hole and mating face of the wheel are clean.

Do not exceed allowed torque when installing the TPM sensor to the wheel rim. Do not use electric or pneumatic tools on the TPM sensor. Handle the sensor with care.

In order for the system to correctly monitor tires for under-inflation, there should be a total of exactly 4 sensors fitted to the vehicle wheels. There should be no other sensors in the vehicle as this could cause the system to monitor the wrong sensors or fail to learn a newly installed sensor.

Sensor Initiating Procedure

Specific to:

Hyundai Entourage 2007-2008

NOTE
The new sensor's default state will be Storage Auto (High Line).

  1. This procedure will require the use of the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) sensor exciter-TPMS Exciter.
  2.
  3. Change the newly installed sensor mode to Normal Fixed Base (Low Line) on the -TPMS Exciter.-
  4.
  5. Read the 4 sensor ID-s starting with sensor 1 (1 is normally the front left, 2 is the front right, 3 is the rear left, 4 is the rear right).
    NOTE
The sensors which were already configured as Base (Low Line) will take longer to read.

  6.
  7. Connect the -TPMS Exciter- to the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC).

Click image to see an enlarged view

Fig. Connect the TPMS Exciter to the Diagnostic Link Connector

  8.
  9. Register the 4 sensor ID-s to the receiver following the prompts on the TPMS Exciter.
  10.
  11. Cycle the ignition ON and OFF; wait 15 seconds before turning the ignition back ON then any related DTC-s should be erased from the receiver.
    NOTE
In order for the system to correctly monitor tires for under-inflation, there should be exactly 4 sensors fitted to the vehicle-s tires. There should be no other sensors in the vehicle as this could cause the system to monitor the wrong sensors or fail to lean newly installed sensor.
