  1. Accelerator pedal side-With the rear locknut (A) at the end of the cable, assemble the accelerator cable to the intermediate pulley.
  2.
  3. Pull the cable tight in the bracket with the pulley against the stop. Tighten the front locknut (B) against the bracket. Back off the front locknut (B) 1 turn.
  4.
  5. Tighten the rear locknut (A).
  6.
  7. The cable should have approximately 1mm of slack with the pulley against the stop.
  8.
  9. Throttle valve side-assemble the accelerator cable to the intermediate pulley.
  10.
  11. The locking nuts should be adjusted and tighten securely at approximately the mid point of the threaded area of the accelerator cable.
  12.
  13. With the rear locking nut (A) at the end of the cable, assemble the actuator cable to the intermediate pulley.
  14.
  15. Pull the cable tight in the bracket with the pulley against the stop. Tighten the front locknut (B) against the bracket. Back off the front locknut (B) 1 turn.
  16.
  17. Tighten the rear locknut (A).
  18.
  19. The cable should have approximately 1.5mm of slack with the pulley against the stop.
  20.

Prior to proceeding with the final cable adjustment, make sure that the pulley attached to the throttle valve is in the NORMAL idle position.

  1. To make the final adjustment, use the following procedure:
    1. Assemble the accelerator cable to the throttle valve pulley (if not assembled).
    2.
    3. Attach the cable casing to the surge tank using the appropriate supplied adjusting bolts. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
    4.
    5. Insert a shim or similar tool, 1.5mm thick, between the 2 pulley stops.
    6.
    7. Adjust the cable casing at the rear side of the surge tank to allow all the slack to be removed from the inner cable. Make sure the throttle valve pulley remains in the NORMAL idle position.
    8.
    9. Tighten the adjustment bolts. Remove the shim from between the 2 intermediate pulleys.
