Stop Light Switch

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Locate the stop light switch at the brake pedal lever.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the switch.
  6.  
  7. Remove the switch.
  8.  

To Install:
  1. Thread the stop light switch into the bracket.
  2.  
  3. Adjust the switch so the distance between the end of the switch plunger and the brake lever stop is 0.020-0.039 in. (0.5-1.0mm).
  4.  
  5. Tighten the locknut securely.
  6.  
  7. Connect the electrical harness to the switch.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  
  11. Make sure the stop lights come on when the brake pedal is depressed and go out when the pedal is released. Also, make sure the cruise control system operates properly.
