Fig. Fig. 10: The radiator is mounted to the chassis on rubber insulators. The fans and shrouds are mounted directly to the radiator. On some models, it may be possible to remove the radiator with the fans still attached.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Set the heater control knob the HOT position.
  4.  
  5. Drain the cooling system.
  6.  
  7. Raise the vehicle and support it safely.
  8.  
  9. Remove the splash shield from under the engine.
  10.  
  11. Disconenct the wiring harnesses from the fan motor and thermo sensors.
  12.  
  13. Remove the fan and shroud.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect and plug the automatic transaxle cooler hoses, as required.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the expansion tank hose.
  20.  
  21. Remove the radiator mounting bolts and lift out the radiator and fan assembly.
  22.  

To install:
  1. Install the radiator. Tighten the mounting bolts securely.
  2.  
  3. Connect the expansion tank hose.
  4.  
  5. Connect the automatic transaxle oil cooler lines.
  6.  
  7. Connect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  8.  
  9. Install the fan and shroud.
  10.  
  11. Conenct the wiring harnesses for the fan motor and thermo sensors.
  12.  
  13. Install the splash shield under the engine.
  14.  
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16.  
  17. Fill the engine with coolant.
  18.  
  19. Connect the negative battery cable.
  20.  
  21. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature. Check for leaks.
  22.  
  23. Once the vehicle has cooled, recheck the coolant level.
