REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
- Remove the instrument cluster far enough to disconnect the speedometer cable.
- Raise and support the front end on jackstands.
- Disconnect the speedometer cable at the transmission or transaxle.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Insert the cable into the speedometer until the stopper engages with the groove. Install the firewall grommet so that the attachment and projecting portions are horizontal. Route the cable in the engine compartment so that the radius of the cable bend does not exceed 6 in. (150mm). Use wire ties to control the bend of the cable as required.
Improper installation or bend radius of the speedometer cable will cause a fluctuation of the pointer needle, noise or a damaged wiring harness inside the instrument panel.
