TESTING



  1. Disconnect the sending unit electrical harness.
  2.  
  3. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between the sending unit terminal and ground.
  4.  
  5. With the engine stopped, continuity should exist.
  6.  
  7. With the engine running, continuity should not exist.
  8.  
  9. If continuity does not exist as stated, the sending unit is faulty.
  10.  

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the engine.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the sending unit electrical harness.
  4.  
  5. Remove the sending unit from the engine.
  6.  
  7. Coat the new sending unit with Teflon tape or electrically conductive sealer.
  8.  
  9. Install the sending unit and tighten to 11-15 ft. lbs. (15-20 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Connect the sending unit electrical connector.
  12.  
  13. Start the engine, allow it to reach operating temperature and check for leaks.
  14.  
  15. Check for proper sending unit operation.
  16.
