To install:

  1. Apply a thin coat of multi-purpose grease to the surface on the knuckle and bearing.
  2.

NOTE
Do not press against the outer race of the bearing as this can cause bearing damage and always use a new bearing kit.

  1. Install or connect the following:

Bearing onto the knuckle using tool 09216-21100.

Snap-ring into the groove of the knuckle

    Backing plate onto the knuckle

  2.

NOTE
Do not press against the outer race of the bearing as this can cause bearing damage and always use a new bearing kit.

Hub onto the knuckle by pressing it into position using tool 09431-3400

  1. Rotate the bearing several times to seat the bearing.
  2.
  3. Measure the wheel bearing torque using an inch lb. torque wrench. The measurement is 16.64 inch lbs. (1.88 Nm).
  4.
  5. Measure the end-play of the hub using a dial gauge. The specification is 0.003-0.008mm on 2001-03 models or 0.0025-0.0035 inch (0.064-0.088mm) on 2004 models.
  6.
  7. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of removal.
  8.
