Adjustment




NOTE
After rear brake caliper servicing, loosen the parking brake adjusting nut, start the engine and depress the brake pedal several times to set the self-adjusting brake before adjusting the parking brake.

  1. Block the front wheels, then raise the rear of the vehicle and make sure it is securely supported.
  2.  
  3. Pull the parking brake lever up one click.
  4.  
  5. Remove the floor console.
  6.  
  7. Tighten the adjusting nut until the parking brakes are dragged slightly when the rear wheels are turned.
  8.  
  9. Release the parking brake lever completely, and check if parking brakes are not dragged when the rear wheels are turned. Readjust if necessary.
  10.  
  11. Make sure that the parking brakes are fully applied when the parking brake lever is pulled up completely.
  12.  
  13. Reinstall the floor console.

Removal & Installation




NOTE
The parking brake cables must not be bent or distorted. This will lead to stiff operation and premature failure.

  1. Remove the floor console.
  2.  
  3. Loosen the adjusting nut and the parking brake cables.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the connector of the parking brake switch.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 4 bolts and parking brake lever assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the wheel and tire.
  10.  
  11. Remove the brake disc.
  12.  
  13. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake shoe.
  14.  
  15. Remove the parking brake cable retaining ring, from the parking brake cable.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Install the parking brake cable retaining ring to the parking brake cable.
  2.  
  3. Install the parking brake cable to the brake shoe.
  4.  
  5. Install the brake disc.
  6.  
  7. Install the wheel and tire.
  8.  
  9. Install the 4 bolts and parking brake lever assembly.
  10.  
  11. Connect the connector of the parking brake switch.
  12.  
  13. Tighten the adjusting nut and the parking brake cables.
  14.  
  15. Install the floor console.
  16.
