Engine Stall Or Near Stall Detected

Possible Causes:



Perform the Diagnostic System Check for the PCM
 
Discuss the conditions present when this trouble code set with the customer (i.e., the engine may have stalled when the clutch was released too quickly during an initial take off period).

TCM Memory Performance

Possible Causes:



Record any related trouble codes in memory
 
Reprogram the TCM and recheck for the same trouble code
 
If the same trouble code resets, replace & reprogram the TCM

Possible Causes:



Perform the Onboard Diagnostic System Check with Scan Tool
 
If U1064, U1300 and U1301 are set, diagnose these codes first
 
Replace and reprogram the VTD
 
Perform the Security System (Passlock) Relearn Procedure

Theft Deterrent System - PCM In Learn Mode

Possible Causes:



Perform the Onboard Diagnostic System Check
 
Repair any BCM or Communication Link related trouble codes

Possible Causes:



Passlock parts replaced without performing a "learn procedure"
 
Perform the Onboard Diagnostic System Check

Theft Deterrent System Fuel Disabled - Signal Received

Possible Causes:



If an "undecided" password signal is received, the engine will start and then stall
 
If a "fuel disable" signal is received, the engine will not start
 
Repair any BCM or Communication Link related trouble codes
 
Perform the Security System (Passlock) Relearn Procedure

PCM 5-Volt Reference 1 Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



If DTC P0562, P0563 and P0711 are set, check for a short to ground on the 5v Reference circuit.
 
If DTC P0561, P0562 and P0711 are set, check for a short to system power on the 5v Reference circuit.
 
Try disconnecting the sensors one at a time to find the fault
 

Trouble Code: P1639



PCM 5-Volt Reference 2 Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



If DTC P0562, P0563 and P0711 are set, check for a short to ground on the 5v Reference circuit.
 
If DTC P0561, P0562 and P0711 are set, check for a short to system power on the 5v Reference circuit.
 
Try disconnecting the sensors one at a time to find the fault

Output Driver Module 1 Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



ODM 1 control circuit is open, shorted to ground or to power
 
One of the devices listed for this circuit is open or shorted
 
Power circuit to the devices is open (test the IGN 3 fuse)
 
PCM has failed

PCM Ignition Off Timer Performance

Possible Causes:



Record any related trouble codes in memory
 
Reprogram the TCM and recheck for the same trouble code
 
If the same trouble code resets, replace & reprogram the TCM

Generator 'L' Terminal Circuit Low Voltage

Possible Causes:



Generator 'L' terminal circuit to the PCM is shorted to ground
 
Generator is damaged or has an internal malfunction
 
The accessory drive belt is worn out or very loose
 
PCM has failed

Generator 'L' Terminal Circuit High Voltage

Possible Causes:



Generator 'L' terminal circuit to the PCM is open
 
Generator 'L' terminal circuit to the PCM is shorted to power
 
PCM has failed

Class 2 Data Link Malfunction - ID Not Learned

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the BCM, PCM or the SDM
 
If only one other U-Type code is set, diagnose that DTC first
 
If 2 or more U-Type codes are set, refer to Vehicle Diagnostics
 
One or more modules on the CAN network is open, shorted to ground or shorted to power - refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 
TSB 02-05-25-003 contains a repair procedure for this code

Possible Causes:



ECM Class 2 circuit is open, shorted to ground or to B+
 
ECM ignition power circuit has a high resistance condition

Possible Causes:



ATC Class 2 circuit is open, shorted to ground or to B+

Possible Causes:



Class 2 data link is shorted to sensor ground or chassis ground
 
If the Scan Tool can communicate with the BCM, PCM or SDM, then the Class 2 data link is not "currently" shorted to ground.
 
One or more modules on the Class 2 line has a short to ground
 
Refer to the Data Link Connector diagnostics

Class 2 Data Link Circuit High Input

Possible Causes:



Class 2 serial data line was in a high state for 3 seconds due to a short to VREF (5v)
 
One or more modules on Class 2 line has an short to power
 
Refer to the Data Link Connector diagnostics

Class 2 Data Link Circuit Shorted Generic

Possible Causes:



Class 2 serial data line was in a high state for 3 seconds due to a short to VREF (5v)
 
If the Scan Tool can communicate with the BCM, PCM or SDM, then the Class 2 data link is not "currently" shorted to ground.
 
One or more modules on Class 2 line has an short to power
 
Refer to the Data Link Connector diagnostics
 

Trouble Code: U2100



CAN Bus Communication Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Class 2 circuit problem (one or more wires open or shorted)
 
One or more modules on the CAN network is open, shorted to ground or shorted to power - refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 

Trouble Code: U2102



More Controllers On The Bus Then Programmed

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Read the data lists from the EBCM, PCM and TCM with a Scan Tool. If no data is received from a module, check its connector!
 
The module that cannot communicate may have failed
 
Refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 

Trouble Code: U2103



Fewer Controllers On The Bus Then Programmed

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Read the data lists from the EBCM, PCM and TCM with a Scan Tool. If no data is received from a module, check its connector!
 
The module that cannot communicate may have failed
 
Refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 

Trouble Code: U2104



CAN Bus Reset Counter Overrun

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Read the data lists from the EBCM, PCM and TCM with a Scan Tool. If no data is received from a module, check that module
 
The module that did not communicate all its data has failed
 
Refer to the CAN bus diagnostics
 

Trouble Code: U2105



Lost Communication With The ECM

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the ECM
 
Test the main power and ground circuits to the ECM
 
Check the CAN serial data circuit to the ECM
 
Refer to the CAN bus diagnostics
