Fuel level sensor is stuck in one position
 
Fuel level sensor signal circuit is shorted to ground
 
Fuel level sensor is damaged or it has failed
 
Loose fuel tank baffle interfering with the fuel level sensor
 
PCM has failed

Possible Causes:



CFAN relay control circuit is open or shorted to ground

CFAN relay is damaged or it has failed
 
PCM has failed (the internal control driver is damaged)

Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal Range/Performance

Possible Causes:



Output shaft rotor is chipped, damaged or not properly aligned
 
OSS resistance specification: 800-1600 ohms at 68ºF
 
Right Front WSS resistance specification: from 1K to 2K ohms
 
VSS tip contains debris or metal shavings (an intermittent fault)
 
VSS positive (+) or (-) signal circuit open or shorted to ground
 
VSS is damaged or it has failed
 
VSS circuit from EBCM and PCM open or grounded (ABS only)

Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Output shaft rotor is chipped, damaged or not properly aligned

OSS is damaged (OSS resistance is from 1530-1870 ohms)
 
PCM is damaged

IAC System Too Low

Possible Causes:



Accessory drive component "loading" the engine
 
Air inlet duct is collapsed, loose or air filter element is clogged
 
Base engine problem (i.e., compression or misfire condition)
 
EGR valve may be binding or stuck in open position
 
Idle air inlet passage or throttle bore is dirty or full of deposits
 
IAC valve is damaged or it has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0507



IAC System Too High

Possible Causes:



Air inlet duct is collapsed, loose or air filter element is clogged
 
Base engine problem (i.e., compression or misfire condition)
 
EGR valve may be binding or stuck in open position

Vehicle may have been used to "jump start" another vehicle

Possible Causes:



Ignition system voltage circuit has a high resistance condition
 
Generator is damaged or it has failed (generator output too low)
 
Possible high resistance condition in the fusible link to battery

Possible Causes:



Ignition system voltage circuit has a high resistance condition

Perform the Diagnostic System Check for the PCM or the TCM

PCM has failed (replace and reprogram the PCM or TCM)

Possible Causes:



Perform the Diagnostic System Check for the PCM or TCM
 
Record any related trouble codes in memory
 
Reprogram the PCM or TCM and recheck for related trouble codes. If the same code resets, replace and reprogram the PCM or the TCM (depending upon which one set the code).

Possible Causes:



A/T manual shift valve connector is disconnected or loose
 
TR switch indicates a forward gear, but the transmission is hydraulically in Neutral gear position

Transaxle - No First Gear Available

Possible Causes:



If any Shift Solenoid performance codes are set (P0781, P0782 or P0783 for 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear stuck "on"), fix the highest gear code first. A gear stuck "on" will cause a loss of 1st Gear.
 
End cover 1st gear hub seal rings may be damaged
 
1st clutch piston may be leaking
 
Input shaft feed tube to end cover may be blocked
 
Servo leak, passage blocked (no oil pressure to 1st gear clutch)
 
1st gear spray failed or 1st gear clutch plates may be worn
 
1st gear shift solenoid is damaged or it has failed

Transaxle - No Second Gear Available

Possible Causes:



If any shift solenoid performance codes are set (P0782 or P0783 for 3rd or 4th gear stuck "on"), fix the highest gear code first. A 3rd or 4th gear stuck "on" will cause a loss of 2nd Gear.
 
3rd or 4th Gear Shift solenoid sticking will cause 3rd or 4th gear to be applied from a standing stop and cause loss of 2nd Gear
 
2nd gear shift solenoid is damaged or it has failed
 
TSB 99-07-30-018 contains a repair procedure for this code
 

Trouble Code: P0733



Transaxle - No Third Gear Available

Possible Causes:



If any shift solenoid performance codes is set (P0783 for 4th gear stuck "on"), fix that trouble code first. A 4th gear stuck "on" condition can cause a loss of 3rd gear, a loss of 4th gear, and the TCC may be stuck in "on" position.
 
4th Gear Shift solenoid sticking will cause 4th gear to be applied from a standing stop and cause a loss of 3rd Gear.
 
3rd gear shift solenoid is damaged or it has failed

Transaxle - No Fourth Gear Available (AF23-5)

Possible Causes:



Delivery tube busing in the output shaft miss-located or loose
 
Plugged or restricted oil passages or faulty clutch plates

Output shaft seal, Output shaft or 4th clutch 'O' rings damaged
