Discuss possible vehicle overloading, exceeding trailer-towing limits, or towing while in Overdrive mode

Transaxle may have mechanical or hydraulic problems

Drain the transaxle fluid and change the transaxle filter

Generator 'L' Terminal Circuit Low Voltage

Possible Causes:



Generator 'L' terminal circuit to the PCM is shorted to ground
 
Generator is damaged or has an internal malfunction
 
The accessory drive belt is worn out or very loose
 
PCM has failed

Generator 'L' Terminal Circuit High Voltage

Possible Causes:



Generator 'L' terminal circuit to the PCM is open
 
Generator 'L' terminal circuit to the PCM is shorted to power
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: U1000



Class 2 Data Link Malfunction - ID Not Learned

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the BCM, PCM or the SDM
 
If only one other U-Type code is set, diagnose that DTC first
 
If 2 or more U-Type codes are set, refer to Vehicle Diagnostics
 
One or more modules on the CAN network is open, shorted to ground or shorted to power - refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 
TSB 02-05-25-003 contains a repair procedure for this code

Possible Causes:



ECM Class 2 circuit is open, shorted to ground or to B+
 
ECM ignition power circuit has a high resistance condition

Trouble Code: U1300



Class 2 Data Link Circuit Low Input

Possible Causes:



Class 2 data link is shorted to sensor ground or chassis ground
 
If the Scan Tool can communicate with the BCM, PCM or SDM, then the Class 2 data link is not "currently" shorted to ground.
 
One or more modules on the Class 2 line has a short to ground
 
Refer to the Data Link Connector diagnostics

Class 2 Data Link Circuit High Input

Possible Causes:



Class 2 serial data line was in a high state for 3 seconds due to a short to VREF (5v)
 
One or more modules on Class 2 line has an short to power
 
Refer to the Data Link Connector diagnostics

Class 2 Data Link Circuit Shorted Generic

Possible Causes:



Class 2 serial data line was in a high state for 3 seconds due to a short to VREF (5v)
 
If the Scan Tool can communicate with the BCM, PCM or SDM, then the Class 2 data link is not "currently" shorted to ground.
 
One or more modules on Class 2 line has an short to power
 
Refer to the Data Link Connector diagnostics
 

Trouble Code: U2100



CAN Bus Communication Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Class 2 circuit problem (one or more wires open or shorted)
 
One or more modules on the CAN network is open, shorted to ground or shorted to power - refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 

Trouble Code: U2102



More Controllers On The Bus Then Programmed

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Read the data lists from the EBCM, PCM and TCM with a Scan Tool. If no data is received from a module, check its connector!
 
The module that cannot communicate may have failed
 
Refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 

Trouble Code: U2103



Fewer Controllers On The Bus Then Programmed

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Read the data lists from the EBCM, PCM and TCM with a Scan Tool. If no data is received from a module, check its connector!
 
The module that cannot communicate may have failed
 
Refer to the CAN bus diagnostics.
 

Trouble Code: U2104



CAN Bus Reset Counter Overrun

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the EBCM, PCM or the TCM
 
Read the data lists from the EBCM, PCM and TCM with a Scan Tool. If no data is received from a module, check that module
 
The module that did not communicate all its data has failed
 
Refer to the CAN bus diagnostics
 

Trouble Code: U2105



Lost Communication With The ECM

Possible Causes:



Check for a loose connection at the ECM
 
Test the main power and ground circuits to the ECM
 
Check the CAN serial data circuit to the ECM
