Bleeding

Print

  1. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir.
  2.
  3. Raise the front of the vehicle just sufficiently so that the drive wheels are off the ground, then safely support the vehicle.
  4.
  5. Bleed the system by turning the wheels from side-to-side without hitting the stops. It may take several cycles to bleed the system.
    NOTE
Maintain the reservoir at the FULL mark during this procedure.

  6.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8.
  9. Start the engine and, with the transaxle in P (automatic transaxle) or N (manual transaxle), check the fluid level with the engine idling. If necessary, add fluid to bring the level to the FULL mark.
  10.
  11. Road test the vehicle and check for proper operation. Recheck the fluid level and make sure it is at or slightly above the FULL mark after the system has stabilized at normal operating temperature.
