Rotary Control Design

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front console assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove lower cluster assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the glove box.
  8.  
  9. Remove the instrument panel lower assembly on the passenger's side.
  10.  
  11. Remove the instrument panel lower assembly on the driver's side.
  12.  
  13. Remove the spedometer cluster.
  14.  
  15. Remove the control assembly attaching screws.
  16.  
  17. Remove the control assembly by gently pulling out and disengaging the connectors.
  18.  

To install:
  1. Slide the control lever to the left (CIRC) position, connect the cable at the CIRC position of the link unit of the blower motor and secure it with the clip.
  2.  
  3. Turn the control knob to left MAX COLD. Connect the control cable at the COLD position to the temperature control link of the heater unit and secure it with the clip.
  4.  
  5. Turn the control knob to right DEFROST. Connect the control cable at the DEFROST position to the mode control link of the heater unit and secure it with the clip.
  6.  
  7. Check cable operation.
  8.  
  9. Install the control assembly attaching screws.
  10.  
  11. Install the spedometer assembly and the instrument panel lower assembly on both sides.
  12.  
  13. Install the glove box and cluster assembly.
  14.  
  15. Install the console and trim.
  16.  
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front console assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove lower cluster assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the glove box.
  8.  
  9. Remove the instrument panel lower assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the control assembly attaching screws.
  12.  
  13. Remove the control assembly by gently pulling out and disengaging the connectors.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Slide the control lever to the left (CIRC) position, connect the cable at the CIRC position of the link unit of the blower motor and secure it with the clip.

  3. Slide the control knob to left COLD. Connect the control cable at the COLD position to the temperature control link of the heater unit and secure it with the clip.
  4.  
  5. Slide the control right DEFROST. Connect the control cable at the DEFROST position to the mode control link of the heater unit and secure it with the clip.
  6.  
  7. Check cable operation.
  8.  
  9. Install the control assembly attaching screws.
  10.  
  11. Install the instrument panel lower assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install the glove box and cluster assembly.
  14.  
  15. Install the console and trim.
  16.  
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18.  

Vacuum Rotary Control Design

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front console trim.
  4.  
  5. Remove control assembly screws.
  6.  
  7. Remove control assembly.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the vacuum hose connectors and electrical connectors.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Connect the vacuum hose connectors and electrical connectors.
  2.  
  3. Install the control assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the trim panels.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.
