REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. To remove the front console assembly, proceed as follows:
    1. Remove the shift knob, if equipped with a manual transmission and the transfer knob.
    2.  
    3. Remove the rear retainer screws from the left and right side of the assembly.
    4.  
    5. Open the plastic caps at the front of the shift console, and remove the retainer screws from underneath.
    6.  
    7. Lift the center console over the shifter and out.
    8.

  5. To remove the rear console assembly, proceed as follows:
    1. Open the lid of the rear compartment, and if equipped, remove the cup holder. Remove the retainer screws at the base of the console assembly.
    2.  
    3. If equipped, remove the power mirror switches in the center of the console and disconnect the harnesses.
    4.  
    5. Use a small prytool to remove the plastic trim piece at the front of the console assembly. Remove the retainer screws from under the trim piece.
    6.  
    7. Remove the console assembly from the vehicle.

To install:
  1. To install the rear console assembly, proceed as follows:
    1. Position the console between the 2 front seats, aligning the mounting holes in the console with the holes in the floor or bracket.
    2.  
    3. Install retainer screws to the front pocket and rear compartments of the console assembly to secure it in place. Install the plastic trim piece over the front screws.
    4.  
    5. If equipped with power mirrors, connect the harnesses to the mirror switches and install them in the center of the console. If equipped with a cup holder, install it in the rear compartment.

  3. To install the front console assembly, proceed as follows:
    1. Position the console assembly over the shifter assembly, and secure in place with retainer screws. Remember, the retainer screws with the plastic caps covering the screw head should be install at the front of the console assembly.

    3. Install the shift and transfer knobs, if removed.

  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable
  2.  
  3. Remove the shift knob, if equipped with a manual transmission, and the transfer knob.
  4.  
  5. Remove the retainer screws from the left and right sides of the front console.
  6.  
  7. Remove the right front seat assembly. Refer to the procedure in this section for removal and installation details.
  8.  
  9. Remove the retainer screws securing the assist grip to the rear console assembly.
  10.  
  11. Lift the fuel filler latch and disconnect the cable.
  12.  
  13. Remove the front console assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove the retainer screws from the front of the rear console assembly.
  16.  
  17. Remove the rear cover at the back of the console, then unfasten the rear console retainer nuts.
  18.  
  19. Lift the rear console assembly up and out of the vehicle.
  20.  

To install:
  1. Position the rear console assembly in the vehicle. Align the studs in the console mounting holes, and secure in place with the retainer nuts. Install the trim cover over the retainer nuts.
  2.  
  3. Install retainer screws to the front of the rear console assembly.
  4.  
  5. Attach the fuel filler lid cable to the latch assembly.
  6.  
  7. Position the assist grip to the rear console assembly, and secure in place with the retainer screws.
  8.  
  9. Install the front center console, and secure in place with retainer screws at the sides.
  10.  
  11. Install the right front seat assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install the shift knob, if equipped, and the transfer knob.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
