CAUTION
The windshield in these vehicles are secured in place with a butyl/urethane seal. which most be cut before the windshield can be removed. It is recommended that procedure be completed by a professional, but, if you insist on performing the procedure yourself use extreme care.

  1. Remove the rear view mirror, sun visors and wipers arms from the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. On Pick-up models, use a knife or other suitable tool to cut the outside lip of the weatherstripping. Remove the weather stripping lip from the windshield.
  4.  
  5. On all other models, remove the molding from the top, bottom and side of the window glass.
  6.  
  7. Use a pick tool to open a small access hole in the sealer securing the window to the vehicle. Take a 14 in. (36cm) piece of wire and insert it into the hole. Attach both ends to a small piece of wood. Grasp the piece of wood in each hand, and pull to cut the sealer. Work the pieces of wood around the window glass, working slowly and carefully.

  9. Once the sealer has been cut, Push the windshield glass up. With the aid of an assistant, remove the windshield glass from the vehicle. Using a suitable solvent and rags, remove the remainder of the sealer attached to the vehicle window frame.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Apply a bead of windshield sealer to the entire circumference of the window frame.
  2.  
  3. With the aid of an assistant, position the windshield in place. Press down lightly on the glass to fully attach the sealer to the glass.
  4.  
  5. On all models except Pick-ups, install and attach the molding pieces around the windshield.
  6.  
  7. On Pick-up models, install the rubber window seal around the edge of the windshield. Press the seal into place. Apply sections of tape to the seal, to secure it in place until the sealer dries. The tape can be removed after about 24 hours time.
  8.  
  9. Install the rear view mirror, sun visors and wiper arms.

  1. Remove the rear view mirror from the windshield, sun visors and wipers arms from the vehicle.

  3. Remove the molding from the bottom and side of the window glass.
  4.  
  5. Use a knife or other suitable tool to cut the outside lip of the weatherstripping. Remove the weather stripping lip from the windshield.
  6.  
  7. With the aid of an assistant, carefully push the windshield glass out from the inside of the vehicle. Remove the windshield glass from the vehicle. Remove the remaining amount of windshield seal.
  8.  

To install:
  1. With the windshield placed on a clean flat surface, Install a new windshield seal around the glass.
  2.  
  3. Take a piece of string, and wrap it around the center of the window seal twice. Refer to the illustration for details.
  4.  
  5. With the aid of an assistant, position the windshield in place. Have the assistant press down lightly on the glass.
  6.  
  7. From inside the vehicle, hold one end of the piece of string stationary. Then slowly pull the other end of the string around the windshield to seat the seal in the frame. Continue pulling on the string until both ends are free of the seal.
  8.  
  9. Install the molding and trim pieces to the bottom and sides of the windshield assembly.
  10.  
  11. Install the rear view mirror, sun visors and wiper arms.
