Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Drain the brake fluid.
    NOTE
    Be sure to dispose of used brake fluid properly. Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas.

  6.  
  7. Using a flare nut wrench, remove the clutch tube.
  8.  
  9. Remove the snap pin between the clutch pedal and the pushrod. Remove the clevis pin.
  10.  
  11. Unscrew the master cylinder assembly mounting nuts and reservoir tank bracket mounting bolts.
  12.  
  13. Remove the master cylinder assembly from its mounting.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts to 69-95 inch lbs. Tighten the reservoir tank bracket mounting bolts 45.1-57.3 inch lbs.
  4.  
  5. Bleed the clutch system.
  6.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the kicking plate. Remove the foot rest.
  6.  
  7. Remove the dash side finisher.
  8.  
  9. Remove the instrument lower driver panel.
  10.  
  11. Remove the VDC/TCS/ABS control unit.
  12.  
  13. Remove the snap pin and clevis pin. Separate them from the clutch pedal.
  14.  
  15. Drain the brake fluid.
    NOTE
    Be sure to dispose of used brake fluid properly. Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas.

  16.  
  17. Remove the reservoir tank.
  18.  
  19. Using a flare nut wrench, remove the clutch tube.
  20.  
  21. Remove the master cylinder assembly from its mounting.
  22.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Bleed the clutch system.
  4.
