Removal & Installation



Front & Rear
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the cap from the master cylinder reservoir and extract about13
  4.  
  5. Remove the wheels.
  6.  
  7. Remove the lower pin bolt.
  8.  
  9. Pivot the caliper body upward and secure it with a length of wire. Remove the retainers and inner and outer shims and pads.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Place an old pad over the caliper piston. Use a C-clamp to compress the piston.
  2.  
  3. Install the new pads and shims and rotate caliper down onto rotor. Install the pin bolt and torque it to 16-23 ft. lbs. (22-31 Nm) for the front caliper and 25-30 ft. lbs. (33-42 Nm) for the rear caliper.
  4.  
  5. Install the wheels.
  6.  
  7. Check and refill master cylinder if needed.
  8.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the cap from the master cylinder reservoir and extract about 1 / 3 of the brake fluid from the reservoir to prevent overflow when the caliper piston is compressed.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wheels.
  6.  
  7. Remove the lower pin bolt.
  8.  
  9. Pivot the caliper body upward and secure it with a length of wire. Remove the retainers and inner and outer shims and pads.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Place an old pad over the caliper piston. Use a C-clamp to compress the piston.
  2.  
  3. Install the new pads and shims and rotate caliper down onto rotor. Install the pin bolt and torque it to 61-69 ft. lbs. (83-93 Nm) for the front caliper and 23-30 ft. lbs. (31-41 Nm) for the rear caliper.
  4.  
  5. Install the wheels.
  6.  
  7. Check and refill master cylinder if needed.
