NOTE
The manufacturer does not provide removal and installation procedures for this operation. In order to remove the door window motor the door panel must first be removed.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the door panel.
  6.  
  7. Make sure that the door glass is positioned in the UP (closed) position.
  8.  
  9. On the front door, remove the door mirror.
  10.  
  11. Remove the door outside molding. Remove the sealing screen.
  12.  
  13. Using the power window switch, raise and lower the window until the carrier plate securing bolts are visible.
  14.  
  15. Remove the bolts and the carrier plate.
  16.  
  17. On the rear door, remove the partition sash at the glass run. Remove the bolts and screw securing the partition sash. Remove the sash.
  18.  
  19. Hold the glass with both hands. While raising the rear end of the door glass, remove the door glass from the sash and away from the outside (if removing the front door glass)of the door, and away from the inside (if removing the rear door glass).
  20.  
  21. Disconnect the regulator assembly connector.
  22.  
  23. Remove the bolts securing the regulator assembly and guide rail. Remove the regulator assembly and guide rail.
  24.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. To reset the front door limit switch, close the window completely.
  4.  
  5. Press the reset switch and open the window completely.
  6.  
  7. Release the reset switch. After making sure that the reset switch has returned to its original position, close the door window completely.
  8.  
  9. The limit switch is now reset.
    NOTE
    Be sure to manually open or close the door window. Do not use the automatic open-close feature.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  5. Remove the door panel.
  6.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Insert a flat bladed tool with a cloth or tape at the front of the inside handle escutcheon, and pull it back to your side. Disconnect the upper pawl, lower and front, and remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  6.  
  7. Remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher.
  8.  
  9. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the switch finisher and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the switch harness connector. Remove the switch assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the screws of the front door finisher panel.
  14.  
  15. Remove the step lamp and disconnect the harness connectors.
  16.  
  17. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the clips under the door panel and disconnect the clips from their mounting.
  18.  
  19. Pull up on the door panel and remove the connectors, inside handle cable and lock knob handle.
  20.  
  21. Remove the door panel.
  22.  
  23. Remove the front door speaker.
  24.  
  25. Remove the door outside molding.
  26.  
  27. Remove the door sealing screen assembly.
  28.  
  29. Remove the door inner cover.
  30.  
  31. Remove the glass stopper and inner stabilizer.
  32.  
  33. Operate the window to raise/lower the glass until the glass mounting nuts can be seen.
  34.  
  35. Remove the door glass mounting nuts.
  36.  
  37. While holding the door glass, raise it at the rear end to pull the guide roller out of the guide rail.
  38.  
  39. Remove the glass guide from the glass channel while lifting the assembly and detach the glass.
  40.  
  41. Remove the bolt and nut of the guide rail. Remove the guide rail.
  42.  
  43. Disconnect the harness connector and clip harness.
  44.  
  45. Remove the bolt of the regulator assembly. Remove the regulator assembly.
  46.  
  47. Remove the bolt and nut of the guide channel. Remove the guide channel.
  48.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Reset the limit switch by raising the glass to the top position. While pressing and holding the reset switch, lower the glass to the bottom position. Release the reset switch. Verify that the reset switch returns to the original position. If not, pull the switch using the proper tool. Raise the glass to the top position.
    NOTE
    Do not operate the window automatically to raise the glass to the top position.

  5. Adjust the front door glass as needed. Refer to the illustration for adjusting points.
    NOTE
    Point -A- in/out adjustment. Point -B- fore/aft tilt adjustment. Point -C- in/out tilt adjustment. Point -D- up/stop adjustment. Point -E- fore/aft adjustment.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Insert a flat bladed tool with a cloth or tape at the front of the inside handle escutcheon, and pull it back to your side. Disconnect the upper pawl, lower and front, and remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  6.  
  7. Remove the ashtray then remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher.
  8.  
  9. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the switch finisher and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the switch harness connector. Remove the switch assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the screws of the door finisher panel.
  14.  
  15. Remove the step lamp and disconnect the harness connectors.
  16.  
  17. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the clips under the door panel and disconnect the clips from their mounting.
  18.  
  19. Pull up on the door panel and remove the connectors, inside handle cable and lock knob handle.
  20.  
  21. Remove the door panel.
  22.  
  23. Remove the door speaker.
  24.  
  25. Remove the door outside molding.
  26.  
  27. Remove the door sealing screen assembly.
  28.  
  29. Remove the door inner cover.
  30.  
  31. Remove the glass stopper and inner stabilizer.
  32.  
  33. Operate the window to raise/lower the glass until the glass mounting nuts can be seen.
  34.  
  35. Remove the door glass mounting nuts.
  36.  
  37. Remove the glass guide channel while lifting the assembly.
  38.  
  39. Pull out the back guide roller from the guide rail and detach the glass.
  40.  
  41. Remove the bolt and nut of the guide rail. Remove the guide rail.
  42.  
  43. Remove the harness connector on the frame assembly. Remove the harness clip from the track.
  44.  
  45. Remove the bolt of the sub channel and regulator. Remove the regulator assembly.
  46.  
  47. Remove the bolt and nut of the guide channel. Remove the guide channel.
  48.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Adjust the front door glass as needed. Refer to the illustration for adjusting points.
    NOTE
    Point -A- in/out adjustment. Point -B- fore/aft tilt adjustment. Point -C- in/out tilt adjustment. Point -D- up/stop adjustment. Point -E- fore/aft adjustment.

NOTE

NOTE
To reset the front door limit switch, close the window completely. Press the reset switch and open the window completely. Release the reset switch. After making sure that the reset switch has returned to its original position, close the door window completely. The limit switch is now reset. Be sure to manually open or close the door window. Do not use the automatic open-close feature.

2002-2005 (Front Door)

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Insert a flat bladed tool with a cloth or tape at the front of the inside handle escutcheon, and pull it back to your side. Disconnect the upper pawl, lower and front, and remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  6.  
  7. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the arm rest assembly and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the trunk lid opener and fuel lid opener switch connector.
  10.  
  11. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, under the front part of the door panel upper finisher, pull it back to your side and remove it.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the switch harness connector, under the arm rest.
  14.  
  15. Remove the step lamp and disconnect the harness connectors.
  16.  
  17. Remove the door panel retaining screws.
  18.  
  19. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the clips under the door panel and disconnect the clips from their mounting.
  20.  
  21. Pull up on the door panel and remove the connectors, inside handle cable and lock knob handle.
  22.  
  23. Remove the door panel clips. Remove the door panel.
  24.  
  25. Pull the inside seal out of the inner panel.
  26.  
  27. Remove the door speaker.
  28.  
  29. Operate the power window switch to raise/lower the window glass until the glass mounting bolts are visible.
  30.  
  31. Remove the glass mounting bolts.
  32.  
  33. Raise the door glass upward and hold it in place with a suction cup or suitable tool.
  34.  
  35. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the window regulator module assembly.
  36.  
  37. Disconnect the harness connector for the module assembly. Remove the harness clip from the back of the assembly.
  38.  
  39. Remove the power window motor assembly from the guide rail of the regulator module assembly.
  40.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Reset the limit switch by raising the glass to the top position. While pressing and holding the reset switch, lower the glass to the bottom position. Release the reset switch. Verify that the reset switch returns to the original position. If not, pull the switch using the proper tool. Raise the glass to the top position.
    NOTE
    Do not operate the window automatically to raise the glass to the top position.

2002-2005 (Rear Door)

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Lower the door glass to the bottom position.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Insert a flat bladed tool with a cloth or tape at the front of the inside handle escutcheon, and pull it back to your side. Disconnect the upper pawl, lower and front, and remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  8.  
  9. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the arm rest assembly and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  10.  
  11. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, under the front part of the door panel upper finisher, pull it back to your side and remove it.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the connectors.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the switch harness connector, under the arm rest.
  16.  
  17. Remove the step lamp and disconnect the harness connectors.
  18.  
  19. Remove the door panel retaining screws.
  20.  
  21. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the clips under the door panel and disconnect the clips from their mounting.
  22.  
  23. Pull up on the door panel and remove the connectors, inside handle cable and lock knob handle.
  24.  
  25. Remove the door panel clips. Remove the door panel.
  26.  
  27. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the frame assembly.
  28.  
  29. Remove the harness connector routed on the frame assembly, then remove the harness clip from the back of the unit.
  30.  
  31. Operate the power window switch to raise/lower the window glass until the glass mounting bolts are visible.
  32.  
  33. Remove the glass mounting bolts.
  34.  
  35. Raise the door glass upward and hold it in place with a suction cup or suitable tool.
  36.  
  37. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the window regulator and guide channel from the panel.
  38.  
  39. Disconnect the harness connector for the regulator assembly.
  40.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Reset the limit switch by raising the glass to the top position. While pressing and holding the reset switch, lower the glass to the bottom position. Release the reset switch. Verify that the reset switch returns to the original position. If not, pull the switch using the proper tool. Raise the glass to the top position.
    NOTE
    Do not operate the window automatically to raise the glass to the top position.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pry upward on the switch assembly.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the switch assembly.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  

G35
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. To remove the door panel, remove the trim plate inside handle portion and remove the screws.
  6.  
  7. Using a suitable tool, disconnect the pawls and remove the grip finisher.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screw of the door grip finisher.
  10.  
  11. Insert the suitable tool between the panel on the vehicle and the clips on the panel and remove it.
  12.  
  13. Pull up on the door finisher, and remove the power window switch and electrical parts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the lock knob cable and inside handle cable of the inside handle assembly (back side).
  16.  
  17. Remove the inside handle screws, and remove the finisher.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the metal clips and pawls from the door finisher panel and remove the power window switch finisher.
  20.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

I30
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher plate, if used.
  6.  
  7. Carefully pry upward on the switch assembly.

  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the switch assembly.
  12.

  7. If removing the rear door panel, remove the ashtray then remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher.
  8.  
  9. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the switch finisher and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the switch harness connector.
  12.  
  13. Remove the switch assembly.

Q45
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  5. If removing the front door panel, remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher, if equipped.
  6.  
  7. If removing the rear door panel, remove the ashtray then remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher.
  8.  
  9. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the switch finisher and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the switch harness connector.
  12.  
  13. Remove the switch assembly.
