The manufacturer does not provide removal and installation procedures for this operation. In order to remove the door lock actuator the door panel must first be removed.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. To remove the door panel, remove the trim plate inside handle portion and remove the screws.
  6.  
  7. Using a suitable tool, disconnect the pawls and remove the grip finisher.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screw of the door grip finisher.
  10.  
  11. Insert the suitable tool between the door panel on the vehicle and the clips on the door panel and remove it.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Sedan (Front Door)

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. To remove the door panel, remove the trim plate inside handle portion and remove the screws.
  6.  
  7. Using a suitable tool, disconnect the pawls and remove the grip finisher.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screw of the door grip finisher.
  10.  
  11. Insert the suitable tool between the door panel on the vehicle and the clips on the door panel and remove it.
  12.  
  13. Remove the door speaker.
  14.  
  15. Remove the door window and door regulator assembly.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the inside handle cable and lock knob cable from the back side of the door finisher.
  18.  
  19. Separate the key lock rod and the outside handle rod connection (on the handle).
  20.  
  21. Remove the mounting bolts (Torx head) and remove the door actuator assembly.
  22.  
  23. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  24.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Sedan (Rear Door)

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. To remove the door panel, remove the trim plate inside handle portion and remove the screws.

  9. Remove the screw of the door grip finisher.

  11. Insert the suitable tool between the door panel on the vehicle and the clips on the door panel and remove it.

  13. After gaining access to the inside handle on the back side of the rear door finisher, disconnect the inside handle cable and lock knob cable.
  14.  
  15. Remove the mounting bolts (Torx head) and remove the door actuator assembly.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the door panel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the sealing screen.
  8.  
  9. Make sure that the door glass is positioned in the UP (closed) position.
  10.  
  11. On the front door, remove the door mirror.
  12.  
  13. Remove the door outside molding. Remove the sealing screen.
  14.  
  15. Using the power window switch, raise and lower the window until the carrier plate securing bolts are visible.
  16.  
  17. Remove the bolts and the carrier plate.
  18.  
  19. On the rear door, remove the partition sash at the glass run. Remove the bolts and screw securing the partition sash. Remove the sash.
  20.  
  21. Hold the glass with both hands. While raising the rear end of the door glass, remove the door glass from the sash and away from the outside (if removing the front door glass)of the door, and away from the inside (if removing the rear door glass).
    NOTE
    It may be possible to raise and safely support the door glass, using a suitable tool, in the UP (closed) position.

  23. Detach the lock knob rods.
  24.  
  25. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  26.  
  27. Remove the screws securing the door lock assembly. Remove the door lock assembly.
  28.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the door panel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the sealing screen.
  8.  
  9. Make sure that the door glass is positioned in the UP (closed) position.
  10.  
  11. On the front door, remove the door mirror.
  12.  
  13. Remove the door outside molding. Remove the sealing screen.
  14.  
  15. Using the power window switch, raise and lower the window until the carrier plate securing bolts are visible.
  16.  
  17. Remove the bolts and the carrier plate.
  18.  
  19. On the rear door, remove the partition sash at the glass run. Remove the bolts and screw securing the partition sash. Remove the sash.
  20.  
  21. Hold the glass with both hands. While raising the rear end of the door glass, remove the door glass from the sash and away from the outside (if removing the front door glass) of the door, and away from the inside (if removing the rear door glass).
    NOTE
    It may be possible to raise and safely support the door glass, using a suitable tool, in the UP (closed) position, instead of removing it.

  23. Detach the lock knob rods.
  24.  
  25. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  26.  
  27. Remove the screws securing the door lock assembly. Remove the door lock assembly.
  28.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Insert a flat bladed tool with a cloth or tape at the front of the inside handle escutcheon, and pull it back to your side. Disconnect the upper pawl, lower and front, and remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  6.  
  7. If removing the front door panel, remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher.
  8.  
  9. If removing the rear door panel, remove the ashtray then remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher.
  10.  
  11. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the switch finisher and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the switch harness connector. Remove the switch assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove the screws of the front door finisher panel.
  16.  
  17. Remove the step lamp and disconnect the harness connectors.
  18.  
  19. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the clips under the door panel and disconnect the clips from their mounting.
  20.  
  21. Pull up on the door panel and remove the connectors, inside handle cable and lock knob handle.
  22.  
  23. Remove the door panel.
  24.  
  25. Remove the sealing screen.
  26.  
  27. Make sure that the door glass is positioned in the UP (closed) position.
    NOTE
    It may be possible to raise and safely support the door glass, using a suitable tool, in the UP (closed) position, instead of removing it. If not, you will first have to remove the door glass and the power window regulator assembly.

  29. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  30.  
  31. Remove the screws securing the door lock/actuator assembly. Remove the door lock/actuator assembly.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Insert a flat bladed tool with a cloth or tape at the front of the inside handle escutcheon, and pull it back to your side. Disconnect the upper pawl, lower and front, and remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  6.  
  7. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the dip under the arm rest assembly and lift it up. Insert your fingers between the gaps, pull it back to your side and disconnect the metal clips.
  8.  
  9. If removing the front door panel, disconnect the trunk lid opener and fuel lid opener switch connector.
  10.  
  11. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, under the front part of the door panel upper finisher, pull it back to your side and remove it.
  12.  
  13. If removing the rear door panel, disconnect the connectors.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the switch harness connector, under the arm rest.
  16.  
  17. Remove the step lamp and disconnect the harness connectors.
  18.  
  19. Remove the door panel retaining screws.
  20.  
  21. Insert the flat bladed tool covered with a cloth or tape, into the clips under the door panel and disconnect the clips from their mounting.
  22.  
  23. Pull up on the door panel and remove the connectors, inside handle cable and lock knob handle.
  24.  
  25. Remove the door panel clips. Remove the door panel.
  26.  
  27. Make sure that the door glass is positioned in the UP (closed) position.
    NOTE
    It may be possible to raise and safely support the door glass, using a suitable tool, in the UP (closed) position, instead of removing it. If not, you will first have to remove the door glass and the power window regulator assembly.

  29. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  30.  
  31. Remove the screws securing the door lock/actuator assembly. Remove the door lock/actuator assembly.
  32.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Door Lock Switch
G20
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pry upward on the switch assembly.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the switch assembly.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  

G35
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. To remove the door panel, remove the trim plate inside handle portion and remove the screws.
  6.  
  7. Using a suitable tool, disconnect the pawls and remove the grip finisher.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screw of the door grip finisher.
  10.  
  11. Insert the suitable tool between the panel on the vehicle and the clips on the panel and remove it.
  12.  
  13. Pull up on the door finisher, and remove the power window switch and electrical parts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the lock knob cable and inside handle cable of the inside handle assembly (back side).
  16.  
  17. Remove the inside handle screws, and remove the finisher.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the metal clips and pawls from the door finisher panel and remove the power window/lock switch finisher.
  20.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  

I30
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cap and screw of the switch finisher plate, if used.
  6.  
  7. Carefully pry upward on the switch assembly.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the switch assembly.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
