Arming The System

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Attach the yellow two way connector located behind the glove box.
  4.  
  5. Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to the passenger yellow two way connector located behind the glove box.
  6.  
  7. Close the glove compartment door.
  8.  
  9. Turn the ignition switch toLOCK
  10.  
  11. Attach the two way connector at the base of the steering column and the Connector Position Assurance (CPA).
  12.  
  13. Install the steering column filler panel or knee bolster.
  14.  
  15. Install the AIR BAG fuse to the fuse block.
  16.  
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18.  
  19. From the passenger seat, turn the ignition switch toRUN
  20.  


NOTE
Air bag fuse enabling procedure.

  1. Place ignition in the off position.
  2.  
  3. Install the fuses supplying power to the SDM.
  4.  
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  6.  
  7. Perform the Diagnostic System Check.
    NOTE
    Negative battery cable enabling procedure.

  8.  
  9. Place ignition in the off position.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
  12.  
  13. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  14.  
  15. Perform the Diagnostic System Check.
  16.  

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Attach the yellow two way connector located behind the glove box.
  4.  
  5. Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to the passenger yellow two way connector located behind the glove box.
  6.  
  7. Close the glove compartment door.
  8.  
  9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK , then remove the key.
  10.  
  11. Attach the two way connector at the base of the steering column and the Connector Position Assurance (CPA).
  12.  
  13. Install the steering column filler panel or knee bolster.
  14.  
  15. Install the AIR BAG fuse to the fuse block.
  16.  
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18.  
  19. From the passenger seat, turn the ignition switch to RUN and make sure that the AIR BAG warning lamp flashes seven times and then shuts off. If the warning lamp does not shut off, make sure that the wiring is properly connected. If the light remains on, take the vehicle to a reputable repair facility for service.
