Testing & Troubleshooting

Check battery and verify proper charge. Check battery terminals to be clean and tight. Check that the starter motor is properly ground. Check for proper battery voltage to the positive cable at starter solenoid. Check for proper voltage at the S terminal wire at the solenoid. The voltage at the S terminal will only be present when cranking the engine. Remove starter motor and bench test. Bench test by grounding the starter motor body. Then connect voltage to positive battery terminal at the solenoid. Then connect voltage over to the S terminal. Battery cables or a jump box should be used.
