CLUTCH CABLE
I-Mark (RWD)
  1. Loosen the lock and adjusting nuts on the clutch cable.
  2.  
  3. Pull the cable forward toward the front of the car to take up slack.
  4.  
  5. Turn the adjusting nut inward until the clutch pedal free travel is 5 / 8 in. (16mm).
  6.  
  7. Tighten the locknut and check the adjustment.
  8.  


NOTE
Correct pedal height from the floor is 6.2 in. (157.5mm), adjust the clutch switch to obtain, then lock the switch in position with the lock nut.

I-Mark (FWD)
  1. Loosen the clutch cable adjusting nut and pull the cable to the rear of the vehicle until the adjustment nut turns freely.
  2.  
  3. Turn the adjusting nut either clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the cable length.
  4.  
  5. When the clutch pedal free play travel reaches 0.59 in. and#x00B1;0.20 in. (15mm and#x00B1;5mm) release the cab
  6.

Check the adjustment and then tighten the lock nut.

FWD Impulse and Stylus
  1. Pull the cable to the rear until the adjusting nut turns freely.
  2.  
  3. Turn the adjusting nut either clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the cable length.
  4.  
  5. Repeat step 2 so that the play between the clutch release arm and clutch cable is at the (M) specification of 0.04 and 190.12 in. (1 and 193mm).
  6.  
  7. Make sure the clutch pedal play is within the (L) specification of 0.19 and 1959 in. (5 and 1915mm).

P'up, Amigo and Trooper

The late model trucks have a hydraulic clutch master cylinder that is self-adjusting and does not need periodic servicing.

  1. Pull the outer cable forward and turn the adjusting nut inward until the rubber lip on the washer damper touches the firewall.
  2.  
  3. Depress and release the clutch pedal three times.
  4.  
  5. Pull the outer cable forward again and fully tighten the adjusting nut. Loosen the nut to provide a 5mm clearance.
  6.  
  7. Release the outer cable and tighten the nut.
