REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

NOTE
Power window motors on Isuzu vehicles are an integral part of the window regulator assembly. The regulators are not interchangeable. The service removal/installation procedure is similar to that manual windows with a two exceptions. The power window wiring harness must be disconnected prior to servicing the assembly and the inside handle is replaced by the power window switch assembly.

RWD I-Mark
FRONT GLASS
  1. Remove inside door panel and waterproof seal.
  2.  
  3. Remove screws holding lower channel to sash.
  4.  
  5. Raise glass to UP position and support.
  6.  
  7. Remove window regulator attaching bolts then remove regulator through opening in door frame.
  8.  
  9. Lower glass to the DOWN position and remove upper glass run strip.
  10.  
  11. Tilt the front of the glass down and remove the rear portion first.
  12.  
  13. Measure position of sash on glass and remove by prying with an appropriate tool.
  14.  
  15. When reinstalling sash, lubricate sash channel and install glass with a rubber hammer.
  16.  
  17. Installation is the reverse of removal.

REAR GLASS
  1. Remove inside door panel and waterproof seal.
  2.  
  3. Remove the attaching screw on the upper and lower portion of the guide rail. Remove the book rail.
  4.  
  5. Move the door glass forward and remove together with the weatherstrip.
  6.  
  7. Remove the door glass from the window regulator book rail, then from door frame by pulling straight up.
  8.  
  9. Install channel and glass and apply soapy water to door window glass weatherstrip. Set glass in door frame.
  10.  
  11. Install door glass and then attach to window regulator book rail.
  12.  
  13. Set the lip of the weatherstrip to the door frame. Apply adhesive Diabond or equivalent to the joining face of the door glass and weatherstrip.
  14.  
  15. Install inside door panel, applying sealant 880-C or equivalent to the trim pad clips and arm rest base.

FWD I-Mark
FRONT GLASS
  1. Remove inside door panel, weather proof sheet, waist seal and weather strip.
  2.  
  3. Temporarily install the inside door handle and lower window to the inside panel holes.
  4.  
  5. Remove window attaching screws and glass.
  6.  
  7. Remove window regulator mounting bolts and nuts. Remove window regulator.
  8.  
  9. Remove front and rear glass book rails.
  10.  
  11. Lubricate operating surfaces of window regulator.
  12.  
  13. Check that bottom channel is properly positioned on the glass. Measure spacing from old glass.
  14.  
  15. When installing window regulator bolts, torque to 48 inch lbs.
  16.  
  17. Installation is the reverse of removal.

REAR GLASS
  1. Remove inside door panel, weather proof sheet and door trim.
  2.  
  3. Remove front book rail, inner and outer waist seal. Then remove rear book rail.
  4.  
  5. Remove door window quarter glass. Then remove door glass.
  6.  
  7. Remove window regulator assembly.
  8.  
  9. Lubricate operating surfaces of window regulator.
  10.  
  11. When installing window regulator bolts, torque to 48 inch lbs.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  14.

RWD Impulse
  1. Remove the inside door panel and waterproof sheet.
  2.  
  3. Remove the inside trim cover.
  4.  
  5. Position glass to gain access to stopper bolts and remove.
  6.  
  7. Remove book rail, weatherstrip and waist seal. Remove door glass.
  8.  
  9. Remove window regulator assembly.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal. See illustration for special instructions.

Fig. Tighten screw with portion (A) moved forward. Pull front of glass up and rear down. Check clearance between garnish molding and glass (2 and 195mm). Roll up window and position where proper seal is made. Tighten screw at (B)

Fig. Install glass assembly into door frame placing it into the book rail. Raise portion (C) and tighten screw (A). Push portion (D) to the lower-rear and tighten screw (B)

FWD Impulse
  1. Remove inside door panel and weather proof sheet.
  2.  
  3. Remove book rail.
  4.  
  5. Remove the glass fixing bolts from the regulator. Remove the door glass.
  6.  
  7. Remove the window regulator.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque window regulator bolts to 71 inch lbs.

P'up/Amigo
  1. Remove the inside door panel and weatherproof sheet.
  2.  
  3. Remove the inner and outer waist seals by prying with an appropriate tool.
  4.  
  5. Remove the two screws attaching the bottom channel and regulator. remove the glass by tilting as necessary.
  6.  
  7. Remove the regulator attaching screws and remove the regulator through the access hole in the door frame.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  10.  
  11. Install window glass and insure that bottom channel is properly positioned. See illustration.
  12.  
  13. Install waist seal with the cut away portion turned inward.
  14.  

Trooper/Rodeo
  1. Remove inside door panel and weatherproof sheet. If equipped with power windows, disconnect wiring harness.
  2.  
  3. Remove the inner and outer waist seals by prying with an appropriate tool.
  4.  
  5. Remove cross vent screws. Then remove cross vent by pulling upward.
  6.  
  7. Remove channel attaching screws and remove door glass.
  8.  
  9. Remove the window regulator attaching screws and remove regulator through access hole in door frame.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  12.  


NOTE
The procedure for removal/installation is the same for front and rear doors.
