REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

RWD I-Mark
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio knobs by pulling off.
  4.  
  5. Remove the ashtray.
  6.  
  7. Remove the air conditioning control knobs by pulling off.
  8.  
  9. Remove the four screws and then the control panel cover.
  10.  
  11. Remove the two screws retaining the radio.
  12.  
  13. Pull the radio out and disconnect the harness connector.
  14.

To install:

  1. Connect the harness connector and install the radio and screws.
  2.  
  3. Install the panel cover and four screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the air conditioning control knobs by pushing on.
  6.  
  7. Install the ashtray.
  8.  
  9. Install the radio knobs by pushing on.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable and check operation.
  12.  

FWD I-Mark
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front console screws and console.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the radio and cassette.
  6.

To install:

  1. Install the radio and connect the wiring harness.
  2.  
  3. Install the front console and screws.
  4.  
  5. Connect the battery cable and check operation.
  6.  

Early Model P'up
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio knobs by pulling off.
  4.  
  5. Remove the jamb nuts, washers and face panel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the instrument cluster panel and radio retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the radio and disconnect the harness connector.
  10.

To install:

  1. Connect the harness connector, install the radio and screws.
  2.  
  3. Install the instrument cluster panel.
  4.  
  5. Install the jamb nuts, washers and face panel.
  6.  
  7. Install the radio knobs by pushing on.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable and check operation.
  10.  

RWD Impulse
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front console to body and console to bracket.
  4.  
  5. Remove the console assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front console pad and front console screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bezel to radio screws, bezel and radio/equalizer assemblies.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the wiring harnesses while removing.
  12.

To install:

  1. Connect the wiring harnesses while installing.
  2.  
  3. Install the radio, bezel and radio screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the front console pad and front console.
  6.  
  7. Install the console assembly.
  8.  
  9. Install the front console to body and console to bracket screw.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable and check operation.
  12.  

FWD Impulse and Stylus
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the floor console and front console panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the radio with audio box and bracket.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radio and disconnect the wiring harness.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the radio and connect the wiring harness.
  2.  
  3. Install the radio with audio box and bracket.
  4.  
  5. Install the floor console and front console panel.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable and check operation.
  8.

Late Model P'up and Amigo
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front console and disconnect the harness connector and feeder cable, if so equipped.
  4.  
  5. Remove the radio retaining screws and radio assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radio bracket and bolts.
  8.

To install:

  1. Install the radio bracket and bolts.
  2.  
  3. Install the radio retaining screws and radio assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the front console and connect the harness connector and feeder cable, if so equipped.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable and check operation.
  8.  

Trooper
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio knobs, nuts and washers.
  4.  
  5. Remove the case, radio and screws.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the radio retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brackets from the radio chassis.
  10.

To install:

  1. Install the brackets to the radio chassis.
  2.  
  3. Connect the wiring harness and install the radio retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the case, radio and screws.
  6.  
  7. Install the radio washers, nuts and knobs.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.
