WARNING
When adding fluid to the brake master cylinder reservoir, use only Delco Supreme 11®, GM P/N 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667), or equivalent DOT-3 brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. The use of any type of fluid other than the recommended type of brake fluid, may cause contamination which could result in damage to the internal rubber seals and/or rubber linings of hydraulic brake system components.

  1. Install clean paper and/or shop towels between the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) assembly and the inner fender.
  2.
  3. Remove the electrical connector from the EBCM.

  27. Rotate the ABS module so that the BPMV is facing up.
    WARNING
When handling the EBCM or the BPMV, use care so as not to cause any misalignment of either of the 2 electrical connectors for the EBCM or the solenoids on the BPMV.

    WARNING
When separating the EBCM from the BPMV, DO NOT use a pry bar. If the EBCM and the BPMV cannot be separated, without the use of force, replace the ABS module as an assembly.

  28.
  29. Separate the EBCM from the BPMV.
    WARNING
DO NOT reuse the solenoid plate or the O-rings once the EBCM and the BPMV have been separated. Discard and use NEW only.
