Brake Caliper


Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  3. If brake fluid level is midway between MAX and MIN level in the reservoir, no fluid needs to be removed. If brake fluid level is higher than midway, remove the brake fluid to the midway point.
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Tire and wheel assembly
    Brake caliper fluid line, then plug it
    Caliper slide pin bolts
    Caliper from the mounting bracket

To install:

  1. Clean and lubricate the sleeves and bushings with silicon grease.
  3. Install or connect the following:

    Caliper in mounting bracket
    Slide pin bolts. Tighten to 29 ft. lbs. (40 Nm).
    Fluid lines to the caliper using new copper washers, and tighten to 29 ft. lbs. (40 Nm)
    Wheel and tire assembly

  5. Refill the master cylinder to the correct level. Bleed the brake system.
