Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. If brake fluid level is midway between MAX and MIN level in the reservoir, no fluid needs to be removed. If brake fluid level is higher than midway, remove the brake fluid to the midway point.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

  7. Place a C-clamp around the outer pad and caliper; tighten the C-clamp until the piston is fully compressed in the caliper.

    Remove top caliper retainer, and rotate caliper away from rotor

    Inboard pad and retaining clips
     
    Outboard pad from the caliper
     
    Shims
     

  8.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    New retaining clips onto the inboard pad
     
    Shims
     
    Outboard pad into the caliper
     
    Inboard pad in the caliper
     
    Caliper in position over the rotor
     
    Caliper bolts and tighten to 29 ft. lbs. (40 Nm).
     
    Wheel and tire
     

  2.  
  3. Refill the master cylinder and pump pedal to attain full brake pedal before road-testing the vehicle.
