Removal & Installation

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the drive belt.
  4.  
  5. Remove the power steering pump pulley by performing the following:
    1. Remove the power steering pump pulley using Power Steering Pump Pulley Remover J-25034-C.
    2.  
    3. Remove the pulley from the pump shaft.

  7. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor harness clip from the pump body.
  8.  
  9. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the power steering pressure hoses from the power steering pump.
  12.  
  13. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the power steering pump.

To install:

  1. Install the power steering pump.
  2.  
  3. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts. Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the power steering pressure hoses to the power steering pump. Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Connect the oil pressure sensor harness clip to the pump body.
  10.  
  11. Install the power steering pump pulley by performing the following:
    1. Install the power steering pump pulley to the end of the power steering pump shaft.
    2.  
    3. Install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump using Power Steering Pump Pulley Installer J-25033-C.
    4.  
    5. Install the power steering pump pulley flush against the end of the power steering pump shaft, with an allowable variance of 0.010 inch (0.25 mm).

    7. Install the drive belt.
