Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Drain the radiator coolant.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
    Seal the line and the evaporator with plugs.



    Negative battery cable
     
    Cooling motor and shroud
     



    Air conditioning line
     

  6.  
  7. Raise and support the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
    The splash shield is equipped with hinges which should be treated with care on removal.


    NOTE
    Seal the line and the evaporator with plugs.


    NOTE
    Vehicles with manual transmission, cable tie the cooling radiator.



    Lower radiator splash shield

    Air conditioning line
     
    Lower coolant hose
     
    Air conditioning condenser and screws
     



    Automatic transmission/power steering cooler and screws
     

  10.  
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12.  
  13. Remove the radiator foam trim.
  14.  
  15. Remove the radiator.
  16.  
  17. To install, reverse removal procedure.
  18.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Drain the radiator coolant.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
  6.  
  7. For vehicles equipped with A/T, remove or disconnect the following:

    Oil cooler inlet and return pipes. Discard the O-ring seals. Cap the oil cooler inlet and return pipes and the oil cooler
     
    Lower coolant hose
     

  8.  
  9. For vehicles equipped with M/T, disconnect the lower coolant hose.
  10.  
  11. For all vehicles, remove or disconnect the following:

    Front crash sensor
     
    Wiring harness
     
    Radiator seal. Remove the double-sided adhesive tape
     

  12.  
  13. Raise and support the vehicle.
  14.  
  15. For vehicles equipped with supercharger, remove or disconnect the following:

    Water pump
     
    Water pump retaining bracket and bolt
     
    Cooling module retaining bolt. Secure the supercharger cooling radiator, condenser core and engine oil cooler using suitable retaining straps
     

  16.  
  17. For vehicles equipped without supercharger, remove or disconnect the following:

    Power steering oil cooler
     
    Condenser core retaining stud. Secure the condenser core and PAS cooler using suitable retaining straps
     

  18.  
  19. For all vehicles, lower the vehicle and remove the radiator.
  20.  
  21. To install, reverse removal procedure. For vehicles equipped with A/T, tighten oil cooler inlet and return pipes to: 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
