Pinion Seal and Yoke

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Raise and safely support the front end of the vehicle on jackstands.
  2.  
  3. Matchmark the driveshaft and yoke, then disconnect the driveshaft.
  4.  
  5. Using a holding tool (such as J-8614-01) on the yoke, remove the pinion nut.
  6.  
  7. Remove the yoke, using tools J-8614-01, -02, and -03, or their equivalents.
  8.  
  9. Using tool J-9233 or J-7583, or their equivalents, remove the seal.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Coat the outer rim of the new seal with sealer and install it using a seal driver.
  2.  
  3. Install the yoke, pinion washer and a new pinion nut. Tighten the nut to 210 ft. lbs. (286 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the driveshaft.
  6.
