Steering Damper

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1 and 2

  1. Raise and support the front end on jackstands.
  2.  
  3. Place the wheels in a straight ahead position.
  4.  
  5. Remove the attaching nut at each end of the damper and remove the damper.
  6.  
  7. Install the damper, making sure that the wheels are still in the straight ahead position. Torque the nuts as follows.

    Through 1986 3 / 8 in. nut: 22 ft. lbs.
     
    7 / 16 in. nut: 30 ft. lbs.
