REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1957-69 Models



  1. Support the door.
  2.  
  3. Matchmark the hinge position.
  4.  
  5. Unbolt the hinges.
  6.  
  7. Lift off the door.
  8.

  1. Remove the trim panel and water shield.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the speaker wiring.
  4.  
  5. Matchmark the hinge-to-body pillar position.
  6.  
  7. Have an assistant support the door.
  8.  
  9. Remove the hinge-to-body bolts and lift off the door.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the bolts to 25-35 ft. lbs. and check door alignment.

  1. Remove the door trim panel on vehicles with electric windows, and disconnect the wiring harness.
  2.  
  3. Matchmark the hinge-to-body pillar position.
  4.  
  5. Have an assistant support the door.
  6.  
  7. Remove the hinge-to-body bolts and lift off the door.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the bolts to 12-18 ft. lbs. and check door alignment.
  10.  

ADJUSTMENT1957-83 Models



The doors are adjusted at the hinge mounting points on the door and body. The striker is also adjustable. All fastener holes are oversized to provide for horizontal and vertical movement.
