Windshield Wiper Motor

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION All Except Jeepster/Commando

  1. Disconnect the wiper drive link from the crank under the instrument panel.
  2.  
  3. Mark the locations of the wires at the motor to facilitate proper assembly under the hood.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the motor and washer pump wires at the motor under the hood.
  6.  
  7. Remove the motor-to-dash mounting screws and remove the motor from the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Install the windshield wiper motor in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the wire harness plug and speedometer cable from the instrument cluster.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument panel by depressing the retainer springs at each corner.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 3 motor-to-brake and clutch pedal mounting bracket screws.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the wiper drive link from the motor crank.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the washer hoses from the washer pump. Pivot the motor assembly to the right and drop it below the instrument panel.
  10.  
  11. Mark the wire locations for proper assembly.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the wire harness from the motor and washer pump and remove the motor.
  14.  
  15. Install the windshield wiper motor in the reverse order of removal.
