Removal & Installation



Front Door

  1. Remove the trim panel and waterproof plastic sheet.
  2.

  1. Remove the window frame trim molding.
  2.  
  3. Remove the glass channel bottom screw.
  4.  
  5. Remove the vent window frame screws.
  6.  
  7. Tilt the vent window and glass channel backward and remove it from the door frame.
  8.  
  9. Remove the door glass attaching stud nut and spring washer.
  10.  
  11. If equipped with electric windows, disconnect the wiring harness.
  12.

  1. Drill or grind the heads off the regulator rivets and knock the rivets out with a hammer and punch.
  2.

  1. Pull the glass upward and out of the door.
  2.  
  3. Remove the regulator.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal. The regulator must be attached with special regulator pop rivets (available at autobody supply stores) or bolts and nuts. Tighten the door glass stud nut to 48 inch lbs. (5 Nm); the vent window bottom screw to 84 inch lbs. (9 Nm); the upper vent window screws to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).

Rear Door
  1. Remove the trim panel and waterproof plastic sheet.
  2.  
  3. Lower the door glass and remove the weatherstripping.
  4.  
  5. Remove the stationary glass frame screws.
  6.  
  7. Remove the glass channel upper screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the glass channel lower screws.
  10.  
  11. Tilt the stationary glass and its channel forward and remove it.
  12.  
  13. Remove the door glass stud nut and lift the glass from the door.
  14.  
  15. Grind the heads off the regulator rivets and knock the rivets out with a hammer and punch.
  16.  
  17. Pull the glass upward and out of the door.
  18.  
  19. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the stud nut to 48 inch lbs. and the glass channel screws to 60-84 inch lbs. Use special regulator pop rivets (available at autobody supply stores) or nuts and bolts to install the regulator.
