REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Place the front wheels in the straight-ahead position.
  4.  
  5. Remove the horn pad from the steering wheel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut.
  8.  
  9. Remove the horn contact components: bushing, receiver, flexplate and insulator.
  10.  
  11. Remove the horn contact pin and bushing from the steering wheel.
  12.  
  13. Paint or scribe alignment marks on the steering wheel and shaft for reference during assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove the steering wheel using a puller.
  16.  

To install:
  1. Position the steering wheel on the shaft, aligning the scribed marks.
  2.  
  3. Install the horn contact pin and bushing.
  4.  
  5. Install the horn contact components: bushing, receiver, flexplate and insulator.
  6.  
  7. Install the steering wheel nut and washer. Tighten the nut to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the horn pad.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.
