Lower Control Arms

Bushing Replacement



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lower control arm from the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Press the rear bushing out of the control arm using Special Tool 09624-34000 or equivalent.

To install:

  1. Lubricate the front bushing with soap and press into the control arm at an angle of 18° +/- 3°.
  2.  
  3. Install the control arm to the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Check and/or adjust the wheel alignment.

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front wheel.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the ball joint nut, but do not remove.
  6.  
  7. Using Special Tool 09455-21000 or equivalent, disconnect the lower arm ball joint from the lower arm connector.

  9. Remove the ball joint assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the fork to lower arm connector mounting bolt.
  12.  
  13. Remove the stabilizer link from the lower control arm.
  14.  
  15. Remove the lower control arm mounting bolts.
  16.  
  17. Remove the lower control arm.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Lower control arm and torque the mounting bolts to 72-87 ft. lbs. (98-118 Nm).
     
    Tighten the rear bushing bolt to 87-101 ft. lbs. (118-137 Nm).
     
    Stabilizer bar link
     
    Fork to lower arm connector mounting bolt and tighten to 72-87 ft. lbs. (98-118 Nm).
     
    Ball joint assembly
     
    Front wheel
     

  2.  
  3. Check and/or adjust the wheel alignment.
  4.
