Trouble Code: P0561

System Voltage Unstable

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine runtime over 4 minutes, and the PCM detected the system voltage rapidly changed its value by more than 3 volts. Note: If the Battery Backup circuit is open, the vehicle will not run.

Possible Causes:



Charging system problem (charging voltage interrupted)
 
Backup voltage circuit to the PCM open (intermittent fault)
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0562

System Voltage Low Input

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine runtime over 4 minutes, and the PCM detected the system voltage was less than 8.0 volts, condition met for 5 seconds. Note: If the Battery Backup circuit is open, the vehicle will not run.

Possible Causes:



Charging system problem (charging voltage too low)
 
Battery backup circuit to the PCM has high resistance
 
Backup voltage circuit to the PCM open (intermittent fault)
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0563

System Voltage High Input

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine runtime over 4 minutes, and the PCM detected the system voltage was more than 17.0 volts, condition met for 5 seconds. Note: If the Battery Backup circuit is open, the vehicle will not run.

Possible Causes:



Charging system problem (charging voltage too high)
 
Backup voltage circuit to the PCM open (intermittent fault)
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0601

PCM or TCM Internal Random Check Sum Error

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running and the PCM or the TCM detected that a Random Check Sum Error was present.

Possible Causes:



Poor terminal contact at the ECM ISC Backup Voltage circuit
 
PCM or TCM has an internal problem or has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0650

Malfunction Indicator Lamp Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) circuit.

Possible Causes:



MIL control circuit open
 
MIL control circuit shorted to ground
 
MIL "bulb" is damaged or missing
 
PCM has failed (MIL control "driver" may be open or shorted)
 

Trouble Code: P1500

Vehicle Speed Sensor Performance

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine running OSS signal over 775 rpm, L4 switch indicating "off", and the PCM did not detect any VSS signals during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:



Vehicle speed sensor circuit to the Meter Fuse is open
 
VSS signal ground circuit is open
 
VSS signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
VSS signal circuit is shorted to VREF or system power (B+)
 
VSS is damaged or failed, or the speedometer is damaged

Trouble Code: P1505

IAC Valve Opening Coil Signal Low

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine runtime over 5 seconds, and the PCM detected the IAC Valve Opening Coil signal remained in a low state during the test.

Possible Causes:



IAC valve control signal is open
 
IAC valve control signal is shorted to ground
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed (IAC "driver" circuit may be open in the PCM)

IAC Valve Opening Coil Signal High

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine runtime over 5 seconds, and the PCM detected the IAC Valve Opening Coil signal remained in a high state during the test.

Possible Causes:



IAC valve control signal is shorted to system power (B+)
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed (IAC "driver" circuit may be shorted in the PCM)
 

Trouble Code: P1507

IAC Valve Closing Coil Signal Low

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine runtime over 5 seconds, and the PCM detected the IAC Valve Closing Coil signal remained in a low state during the test.

Possible Causes:



IAC valve control signal is open
 
IAC valve control signal is shorted to ground
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed (IAC "driver" circuit may be open in the PCM)

IAC Valve Closing Coil Signal High

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine runtime over 5 seconds, and the PCM detected the IAC Valve Closing Coil signal remained in a high state during the test.

Possible Causes:



IAC valve control signal is shorted to system power (B+)
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed (IAC "driver" circuit may be shorted in the PCM)
 

Trouble Code: P1586

A/T To M/T Codification

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine speed over 2200 rpm, and the PCM detected the A/T to M/T Codification input was "off" with the gear switch "on", or that the A/T to M/T Codification input was "on" with the gear switch input "off".

Possible Causes:



A/T to M/T codification input circuit is open
 
A/T to M/T codification input circuit is shorted to ground
 
A/T to M/T codification input circuit is VREF or system power
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1640

Main Relay Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running, and the PCM detected the Main relay voltage was less than 6 volts (low), or that it was more than 6 volts (too high).

Possible Causes:



Charging system voltage is too low or too high
 
Main relay power circuit to the PCM has high resistance
 

Trouble Code: P1693

MIL Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the TCM to MIL control circuit during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:



MIL control circuit is open
 
MIL control circuit is shorted to ground
 
MIL control circuit is shorted to system power (B+)
 
MIL "bulb" is open or missing
