Trouble Code: P0120

Throttle Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running and the PCM detected the TP sensor signal was less than 0.14 volt, or that it was more than 4.96 volts.

Possible Causes:



TP sensor signal circuit open or shorted to ground
 
TP sensor signal circuit shorted to VREF or system power (B+)
 
TP sensor is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0121

Throttle Position Sensor Performance

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine at idle speed, and the PCM detected the TP sensor signal was outside of the idle speed limit (i.e., 1.20-2.1 volts at idle is the limit).

Possible Causes:



MAF sensor or TP sensor ground circuit has high resistance
 
MAF sensor has drifted out of calibration
 
TP sensor has drifted out of calibration
 
TP sensor is damaged or has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0122

Throttle Position Sensor 'A' Circuit Low Input

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running and the PCM detected the TP sensor 'A' signal was less than 0.170-0.200 volt during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:



TP sensor signal circuit is shorted to ground
 
TP sensor VREF circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
TP sensor is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0123

Throttle Position Sensor 'A' Circuit High Input

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running and the PCM detected the TP sensor signal was more than 4.60-4.80 volts during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:



TP sensor signal circuit is open
 
TP sensor ground circuit is open
 
TP sensor signal circuit is shorted to VREF or system power
 
TP sensor is damaged or has failed\

Trouble Code: P0125

Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Closed Loop

Trouble Code Conditions: DTC P0116, P0117 and P0118 not set, engine runtime from 6-8 minutes, and the PCM detected the ECT signal did not reach the closed loop temperature of at least 68°F.

Possible Causes:



Check for low coolant level or incorrect coolant mixture
 
Cooling system component failure (thermostat stuck open)
 
ECT sensor is out of calibration ("skewed") or it has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0128

Thermostat Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: ECT sensor signal less than 140°F at startup, then with the engine running the PCM detected the ECT sensor signal did not reach 170°F with the engine "modeling" temperature (runtime) over 190°F.

Possible Causes:



ECT sensor is out of calibration or it is "skewed"
 
Check the operation of the thermostat (it may be stuck open)
 
Inspect for low coolant level or for an incorrect coolant mixture
 

Trouble Code: P0130

HO2S-11 (Bank 1 Sensor 1) Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine started, engine running in closed loop at a speed over 3 mph for 2-3 minutes, and the PCM detected the HO2S signal was more than 1.4 volts, or it was less than 0.02 volt during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:



HO2S signal circuit open or shorted to ground
 
HO2S signal circuit shorted to VREF or system power (B+)

HO2S-11 (Bank 1 Sensor 1) Circuit Low Input

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine started, engine running in closed loop at a speed over 3 mph for 2-3 minutes, and the PCM detected the HO2S signal remained at less than 300 mv during the CCM test.

HO2S signal circuit open or shorted to ground

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine started, engine running in closed loop at a speed over 3 mph for 2-3 minutes, and the PCM detected the average ratio between the HO2S Actual and maximum allowed frequency during 100 Lambda cycles was more than the Threshold value (e.g., 0.66 Hz).

Possible Causes:



Exhaust leak present in the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipes
 
Front HO2S failed, or front & rear HO2S connections reversed
 
HO2S has deteriorated, is contaminated or has failed
