Trouble Code Conditions: Engine running and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the IAC Valve Closing Coil circuit during the test.

Possible Causes:

Idle charge actuator control signal is open

Idle charge actuator control signal is shorted to ground

Idle charge actuator control signal is shorted to system power

Idle charge actuator is damaged or has failed

PCM has failed (the "driver" circuit may be open in the PCM)

Trouble Code: P1602

Serial Communication Problem With TCM

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running, and the PCM detected problem when it tried to communicate with the TCM over the CAN network (time out).

Possible Causes:

PCM to TCM serial communication circuit is open

PCM to TCM serial communication circuit is shorted to ground

PCM to TCM serial communication circuit is shorted to power

TCM has failed

Trouble Code: P1606

Chassis acceleration sensor signal circuit is shorted to ground

Chassis acceleration sensor signal circuit is shorted to power

Chassis acceleration sensor is damaged or has failed

PCM has failed

Trouble Code: P1613

Engine Control Unit Self-Test Failed

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on, and the PCM detected that it failed an internal self-test.

Possible Causes:

PCM (ECU) has failed (it must be replaced to repair this fault)

Trouble Code: P1616

Main Relay Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the Main Relay control circuit during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:

Main relay control circuit is open or shorted to ground

Main relay power circuit from ignition is open (check the fuse)

Main relay is damaged or has failed

PCM has failed

Trouble Code: P1624

Cooling Fan Low Relay Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running and the PCM detected the Cooling Fan Low Relay control circuit was in a low state during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:

Cooling fan low relay control circuit is open

Cooling fan low relay control circuit is shorted to ground

Cooling fan low relay is damaged or has failed

PCM has failed

Trouble Code: P1625

Cooling Fan High Relay Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running, and the PCM detected the Cooling Fan High Relay 1 or 2 Control circuit was in a low state during the test.

Possible Causes:

Cooling fan high relay 1 or 2 control circuit is open

Cooling fan high relay 1 or 2 control circuit is shorted to ground

Cooling fan high relay 1 or 2 is damaged or has failed

PCM has failed

Trouble Code: P1642

Non-Immobilizer EMS Connected to Immobilizer

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on, and the PCM detected the signal from the Immobilizer Control Unit (ICU) was inconsistent during the self-test period.

Possible Causes:

Check the ICU (controller) for any related trouble codes

Trouble Code: P2096

Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean (Bank 1)

Trouble Code Conditions: Case 1: Monitoring deviation of fuel trim control (long term). No relevant failure. Long term fuel trim active. Case 2: Monitoring deviation of fuel trim control (short term). No relevant failure. Short term fuel trim active. Current engine speed less than 500 rpm. Current mass air flow less than 400mg/rev. Current lambda correction mean value less than 4 percent.

Possible Causes:

Three way catalytic converter (TWC)

Rear HO2S

Trouble Code: P2097

Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Rich (Bank 1)

Trouble Code Conditions: Case 1: Monitoring deviation of fuel trim control (long term). No relevant failure. Long term fuel trim active. Case 2: Monitoring deviation of fuel trim control (short term). No relevant failure. Short term fuel trim active. Current engine speed less than 500 rpm. Current mass air flow less than 400mg/rev.
