A Camshaft Position Timing Over Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)

Trouble Code Conditions: Monitor deviation between camshaft position set point and actual value.

Possible Causes:



Oil leakage
 
Faulty oil pump
 
Faulty intake valve control solenoid
 

Trouble Code: P0016

Crankshaft Position- Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)

Trouble Code Conditions: Monitor camshaft position in the full retard condition or during CVVT control. Camshaft switching out of 109 to 141 degrees in full retard position, 70 to 140 degrees CRK during CVVT control.

Possible Causes:



Abnormal installation of camshaft
 
Abnormal installation of crankshaft
 
Abnormal installation of tone wheel

HO2S-11 Heater Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine started, engine runtime over 3 minutes, and the PCM determined the resistance of the HO2S heater was more than a calculated amount.

HO2S heater control circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
HO2S heater control circuit is shorted to system power (B+)
 
HO2S heater is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed

Trouble Code Conditions: Heater check, low. Open or short circuit.

Trouble Code Conditions: If the sensor is out of specification, a code is set. Output voltage is monitored. Engine coolant is above 167 degrees F. Vehicle speed is above 30MPH for more than 60 seconds. Vehicle speed is below 7mph for more than 30 seconds.

Check for low coolant level or incorrect coolant mixture
 
Cooling system component failure (thermostat stuck open)
 
ECT sensor is out of calibration ("skewed") or it has failed

Thermostat Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: ECT sensor signal less than 140°F at startup, then with the engine running the PCM detected the ECT sensor signal did not reach 170°F with the engine "modeling" temperature (runtime) over 190°F.

ECT sensor is out of calibration or it is "skewed"
 
Check the operation of the thermostat (it may be stuck open)
 
Inspect for low coolant level or for an incorrect coolant mixture
