Fig. Clutch pedal height (A-) and free-play (A) adjustment points

  1. Measure the clutch pedal height (From the face of the pedal pad to the floorboard) and the clutch pedal free-play (measured at the face of the pedal pad). The standard value is as follows:
    1. (A) 7.3-13.9mm (0.29-0.55 in)
    2.
    3. (A') 163.8mm (6.45 in)
    4.

  2.
  3. If the clutch pedal free-play is not within the standard value range, adjust as follows :
    1. Turn and adjust the bolt, then secure it by tightening the lock nut.
    2.
    3. Turn the push rod to coincide with the standard value and then secure the push rod with the lock nut.
    4.

  4.

NOTE
When adjusting the clutch pedal height or the clutch pedal clevis pin play, be careful not to push the push rod toward the master cylinder.

  1. After completing the adjustments, check that the clutch pedal free play (measured at the face of the pedal pad) falls within the standard value range of 6-13mm (0.2-0.5 in.).
  2.
  3. If the clutch pedal free play and the distance between the clutch pedal and the floor board when the clutch is disengaged do not meet the standard values, the cause may be either air in the hydraulic system or a faulty master cylinder clutch. Bleed the system or disassemble and inspect the master cylinder or clutch.
