    Removal & Installation

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the fresh air/recirculation control cable from the blower housing unit inlet duct.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect five electrical connectors at the bottom of the blower housing unit.
    6.  
    7. Pull the carpeting away from the bulkhead to gain access.
    8.  
    9. Remove the four nuts retaining the cover plate.
    10.  
    11. Remove the cover plate.
    12.  
    13. Remove two mounting bolts at the top of the blower housing unit.
    14.  
    15. Remove two nuts attaching the bottom of the blower housing unit to the bulkhead mounting studs.
    16.  
    17. Detach the blower unit from the vehicle.
    18.  
    19. With the blower unit removed, remove the three screws securing the blower motor to the blower housing unit.
    20.  
    21. Remove the blower motor vent tubing.
    22.  
    23. Remove the blower motor with the fan wheel attached.
    24.  
    25. Remove the C-clip securing the fan wheel to the motor shaft and separate the fan wheel from the blower motor.

    To install:

    1. Install the fan wheel on the motor shaft and secure in place with the C-clip.
    2.  
    3. Install the motor assembly into the blower housing unit and secure with the three mounting screws.
    4.  
    5. Connect the blower motor vent tubing.
    6.  
    7. Clear the mounting area of any wiring, connectors or cables.
    8.  
    9. Guide the evaporator core tubes through the bulkhead and mount the blower housing unit by inserting two mounting bolts at the top of the unit.
    10.  
    11. Loosely install two nuts on the mounting studs at the bottom of the blower housing unit.
    12.  
    13. Insert two mounting bolts at the top of the blower housing unit.
      WARNING
      Over-tightening may cause the fresh air/recirculation door to bind.

    14.  
    15. Secure the blower housing unit to the bulkhead with the nuts and bolts and tighten the fasteners to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
    16.  
    17. Install the cover in place.
    18.  
    19. Insert four nuts that retain the cover plate in place and tighten to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
    20.  
    21. Attach the five electrical connectors.
    22.  
    23. Replace carpet over the flooring.
    24.  
    25. Connect the negative battery cable.
